Yep..... Quad is the main reason I'm getting it... been reading the UD3P section.... this is some amazing s**t......
fell asleep n let her prime for 2.5 hours wity 4 stix runnin 1200 @ 500x8.5

my blades seem good for the price. have also run 4x 1GB of reaper 8500 @1200mhz without problems.

i would update bios if i was u. find a newer one u like & that plays well with your hardware. i like my current bios best, after playing with almost all the bioses since the first. other see that diff = (zsamz)

just remember to bumb sum extra volt into the NB when u add the extra ram. a copple of clicks up will normally do.

the gb-ep45 ud3p is a better board for overclocking quads, i have both the dfi lt x48 t2r and the ep45 ud3p, dfi was limited to 462fsb, i now have my q9650 @ 500x9 on the ud3p, but as stated memory bandwidth is slower on the ud3p and no good for crossfire with hi res monitors (2560x1600) and above (dual and triple monitors).

Can/or has anybody been able to find out which bios is the 602 or 603 as dfi's beta site dosnt show any reference to these. Im suprised these are not listed on the first post, i really think that firest page needs to be updated with links to bios's and guides.

they both the same i think
but 603 is for ut so
personally i think dfi should scrap every other bios and build on 603

Newegg has a good deal on this MB at $119.99

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136049

I'm tempted to buy it to see how far I can tweak it with my Q9550 E0.
Currently running DFI P45 T2RS which works great but the UT X48 is such a nice MB.
    Just not needed.

x48 is not real good for 45nm quad

Any advice for pushing the memory controller a bit? Which voltages to adjust?

I have 4 sticks of DDR1000 memory and using the 333/800 stap I can get the memory up to around 990 (415) but that is still 10MHz under its rated speed. Any higher and I get errors in IBT. I've tried upping the voltage to CPU (q9450), VTT, NB and even the SB/PLL. Nothing helped. CPU, NB and MOSFETs are water cooled and stay nice and cool. When I changed the strap from 333/800 to 333/666 (thus 1:1) and the same settings I suddenly became stable.

Based on the above, does it sound like the memory controller is getting taxed due to the 4 sticks? If I wanted to go a bit higher, any way to get it stable or do I have to gank 2 sticks?

    i had the board stable 4x1 @ 1200mhz
    i only used 333/800 divider
    i was running d9gmh
    you need 1.6v+ on nb
and dont forget you running a quad so taxing the nb even more so you will be limited
    you better off with a gigabut ud3p ud3r mine does 500 fsb easy with a quad + 4x1 @1200mhz

The option of getting another board at this time is not really possible. I just want tosee how much I can get out of my current system.

Looks like I really need to pump up the NBCore. Is the reason I went from being unstable at 333/800 to stable at 333/666 because it wasn't a strain on the NB as much?

Good to know. I have only been giving small increases to the NB. I've upped it a bit and gotten much more stable. I think I was overvolting everything else because once I upped the NB, I was able to lower Vcore, VTT and VDimm considerably and still be stable. The last board I overclocked was a DFI LP 875Pro Back with prescot cores,if you could keep them cool just up the voltage and you could get some good numbers.

Yet I always get stuck with the crappy revision. I have a C1 9450 so I dont know how much more I can go. I always got stuck with the D1 Northwoods (anyone remember those?) as opposed to the desired M0. Now I need an E0 9450 to get anything good it seems. ::grumble::

it wont matter if you had a good quad on that board or not
    its not geared to quads
i went as high as 500fsb with a quad on my rampage extreme and thats only with 2x1 memory and high voltages to nb an sb

Cool. I wanted to get around 3.6 but if I can get a little higher, so much the better. 3.9 was my record on a P4 2.4GHz so I think it would be cool if I could push this one that far.

At what point do you need to up the SB/PLL voltage? I thought you didnt have to do that till you got REALLY high.

I'll have to check my notes, but wasn't .67 the desired GTL value? I'll look around but if you know off hand that would help.

    Hi
Im working with this board now. with a Q9550 EO.
moving from my P35. The 9550 Eo was 24 hours stable on the p35 @4.0
Can someone lead me to a Overclock Data base for this board and quads?
Or could someone give me a hand with a run down on volts to the NB and SB and vtt that its going to take to hit 470x8.5

u need to find the proper gtl settings for your chip, i think that u need to start with a value of 61-63% for 45nm parts and for the NB start with 67% and work your way from there (gtls are a native setting so its actual voltage x gtl % x 100)

Thanks for your reply and your help.
But I could use some help on this GTL stuff I have no idea on how to set them.
I had just got this board running and had flashed the bios to the new one on the dfi site but I'm now using the 602. And cant get stable at the same setting I had at the new bios at 3750. So I really could use some help here

whats your actual VTT voltage and your acctual NB voltage (the real voltage not the setting, the bios measurement is fine but a DMM number is better)

I just recently purchased this board, and found out the hard way that it is very picky about RAM, so unfortunately I cannot use my fancy OCZ FLEX II sticks. Right now it is running some cheapo crucial I had laying around, but the stuff is garbage and obviously has to go.

So I was wondering if I could get recommendations of 2x2gb kits that worked for you guys, preferably with model numbers and/or links, as I'm a little paranoid about making sure I get it right this time

    Thanks

so try a NB gtl of 109 and a cpu gtl of 89 top and 87 bottom. but with a 45nm part thats a really high VTT

as for your flex will it post with it or will it not post. if it wont post stick the crucial in then set the voltage and timings (for the speed that u want) with the ram in 1:1, then set the ram to the proper speed.\

there is also a problem with some of the ram dividers i stick to 333:800 and 400:800
