What a day, got all my components delivered, then when I started putting everything together I realized the HSF I ordered was broken... O no, no i5 goodness for me then... Well, I got the tools out and disected an old intel E2180 stock fan so I could use it on a LGA 1156 socket... it worked, I'll post pics soon..

    Components:

    Gigabyte P55M-UD2
    Core i5 750 (Oem)
    2 x 2GB Ripjaw 16000 C9

    Testing...

There are quite "officially" high.. 0.65v-1.4vhttp://processorfinder.intel.com/det...px?sSpec=SLBLC
Intel specification for i5 750, i7 860&870 so i guess 1.45 vill be safe too..
    So a good 750 (vid 1.100,1.125v) could probably reach 4.2-4.3ghz with 1.4v
on air with a good cooler...
Seems to me that there are some chips with low vid that are kind of equal with midrange 920 DO chips on overclocking, i mean 4.2-4.3ghz it is possible 24/7...Good news..

My roommate got this mobo, and the same processor. I assembled it for him, and it POSTED successfully. During Win 7 setup I got an error message, ing about some IDE I/O issue, so I adjusted the cable and when I tried to reboot again, all it did was start up all the fans and keep rebooting by itself. I tried removing all the components, installing them one by one...nothing... tried different sticks of ram in different slots, nothing....Any ideas folks?

also try booting with bare minimum of components installed, just everything you need to get into the BIOS, and try 1 RAM module too.

What bios version do you have now ? did you happen know there is new beta bios F4g might save your board from pop that chip, maybe too late ? take it back for RMA if you can.
