I call bull, sholvaco's post made the most sense:
    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/member.php?u=107861

IMO it'll be out round the same time Gulftown's out...
Not shooting the msngr, just calling it as I see it ;-)

IMO the boards will be released in the next few weeks. As it is clear Gigabyte is discontinuing current boards as Newegg is deactivating the SKU's when current stock sold. Intel most likely did put pressure on mobo makers to delay releasing boards for 30 days or so for the release of the P55s'. But Gigabyte is not going till gulftown with No X58 boards. With all the hype of the new boards Gigabyte knows there's money on the table just waiting. I see sata 6GB as gone from the mobo though. As I have a DO waiting for a mobo will give Gigabyte till the first of month as that is when I see them being released.

Hmmm that also makes sense, sigh....

Where did you see that sata 6gb was gone?
I thought the controller was just having issues & that was part of the reason for the delay.
I can understand USB3 being gone, but don't see why sata 6gb should be.

Not sure what you're saying here:
As I have a DO waiting for a mobo will give Gigabyte till the first of month as that is when I see them being released.

After that will pick up a "Classy" or what ever mobo looks best at that time.

And you know these new boards will be released in the next few weeks because Newegg are deactivating SKU's for current EX58 mobos??

This makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever!

I also think you are giving people like jalyst false hopes to, you can't come here and say what you have said without solid evidence that this is the case, just because some e-tailer is deactivating SKU's for current stock!!

@Jackson, it is really strange how Gigabyte are telling one person one thing, and someone else something completely different.. I am beginning to wonder whether anyone at Gigabyte really know what is going on in regards to these boards.

Why not? Where's the solid evidence? Gigabyte statements? They contradict each other and don't amount to much. He said it was his opinion, and it seems like a decent guess.

BTW, I've been following this thread for some time. I want to pass along my thanks to everyone who passed along any tidbit of information they had, INCLUDING information that supported an earlier (rather than later) release of EX58A.

rolodomo, what that guy has said is clearly not true at all, and he is basically giving all these people who want these mobos false hopes..

They aren't going to be released in the next few weeks, that's for sure..

Seriously mate, if you believe these boards are going to be on the shelves in the next few weeks, you're head must be in the clouds.

Great first post btw, what a really nice way to introduce yourself to the forums...

Giving false hopes to whom? To children reading this thread? I thought it was just an opinion. It didn't force me to wait. I've already bailed waiting for the revision a few days ago and purchased another make.

He made an interesting point though, why would Gigabyte scale back on their x58 lineup on Newegg (a major U.S. and Canadian e-tailer)? There other other explanations, perhaps it is some sort of SNAFU that doesn't mean anything. Perhaps x58 is no longer Gigabyte's focus.

About this pulling-out of stocks, I think its not just in your place.
I was about to buy a UD5 2 days ago and it just surprises me that 6 retailers didn't do me good, because the local distro channel didn't have them.
I got the Rampage 2 Gene instead, and I'm gonna sell it if EX58A will be released.
    I'm from the Philippines BTW.

Lowboy, could you please clear up these Qns prompted by your post?

I can understand USB3 being gone, but don't see why sata 6gb should be...
And what do you mean by: I have a 'DO'...

    Cheers

Hmm, looking like a worldwide trend perhaps?
Maybe I'll check out local Australia retailers to see if there's similar shortages.

Sure wish we could some bloody official word from Gigabyte!
It's really quite deceptive how they're carrying on...

He's talking about a Core i7 SLBEJ D0. Thought this would be common knowledge especially in a forum like this....

    Ah I see, the stepping...
The context in which it was written threw me off, thanks for clarifying.

That still leaves: Where did you see that sata 6gb was gone?
    If anyone can corroborate this...

It really bugs the crap out of me when people say "DO"..

I was going to point it out as well, but I didn't bother, I knew what he was meaning, it just annoys me that people can't tell the difference between a O and a 0...

Also roldomo, what children are you referring to mate?

And who are you claiming that you were defending?

I wasn't having a go at anyone, I was just pointing out that the guy shouldn't be making claims about something he doesn't know about 100%, it is misleading to guys who have been waiting for these boards, and as I said, it will give them false hopes, and make them put off upgrading yet again..

If these boards hit the shelves within the next few weeks I will take back everything I have said, but I am 100% sure that they wont be getting released until at least Q1 2010, if at all.

I personally believe the reason the current X58 boards are being discontinued is because of the release of the P55 motherboards, this will be what Gigabyte are focussing on atm.

When I contacted GB UK about these X58A mobos, they told me that they weren't even in production, and that there were only a few made for that Computex Fare in Taipei, and that if I wanted a mobo with 24 Phase power, that I should go for the P55 UD6.

I have sent them yet another webnote, so I will see what they say in reply to that.

I am unsure mate, I can't seem to find any information online to backup his statement, but I did read somewhere a while back that there were problems with the J Micron controller for SATAIII, so it could be true..

I just saw a thread for the Gulftown i9 processor, and the guy was using the UD5, but in the mainboard section it said that his chipset revision was 13, though both of my UD5's say Rev 12, and so does everyone elses that I have seen screens of to.

    ::edit::

The guy replied back, and it seems the newest UD5's the latest revision of the X58 chipset..

Yeah I couldn't find anything that backed-up what he said.
I'll just assume it's unsubstantiated speculation & then speculate myself that if this board does come out soon, it "will" include sata 6gbps

    HeHe!!!

I just edited my last post, the latest UD5's seem to be using the latest revision of the X58 chipset (Rev13), so if you buy one now, you are more than likely going to get this newly revised chipset, although as far as I am aware there isn't any noticable difference between these revisions.

so "this" is the the much vaunted X58A or just some minor stepping?
Nothing that was originally touted is on it? Who claimed this?

What I have said, was AGAIN re-assured just this week.

But again, no time frame was given though sorry, and I still must keep mum on the details.

So if you need a new board ASAP then grab one, if you can wait then wait for sure

I can wait as I'm still working on another project, but I most definitely will need the board once we hit December.
Any longer than that and there'd have to be some impressive improvements to make it worthwhile IMO.

    I agree!

I really think they should have launched it by now, not sure why they waited as the SATA3 issue has been corrected I do believe. Likely though as stated above, P55 launch and they want to see how that is all going to work out for them.

I will keep you posted though once I am told I can share more information

What board are you using now anyway?
