best way it to go off the stats page giving you only have a single gpu on the rig. I guess the way you are posting could make for a comparison to get a rough idea

I still need to get my 275 back to folding to see what it actually produces.
Let me know what it produces, im going to pick one up for Folding to go next to my 285

I think I am between 8500-9500ppd. cannot quite recall. but I have never actually monitored through stats, only fahmon.

I am still looking for a great deal on the 275's. I know newegg has recerts for $200 plus shipping; not worth it imo. Like I told you in message, TD & ewiz usually have best prices but with rebate and cashback which I am ok with. Other than that there have been some killer deals in FS sections here, anandtech & hardforum.

I missed out on that 275 superclock for $150, gtx 285 for $200 and i think there were a couple other deals.

I was almost thinking of finding some good deals on 260's, but still not sure. PG has been having all kinds of problems and it makes me nervous. I would like to pick up at least 1 more card for now as i think I will be building another I7 920 rig next month. Was going to go for 860 rig but prices for me are the same or maybe a little cheaper for 920's. I do not know if i want to run 920 for folding like RR or put it on wcg.

Anyway, i will let you know if i find any deals.

Only problems I have had are with the 192 core. The 2 216 core cards have been flawless, so far, knock on wood, in games, F@H and GPUGrid.

What do you guys think about a Gigabyte GTX275? Is Gigabyte a good company to go with? I trust EVGA/BFG/XFX but i dont know about Gigbyte, does it even matter or are they all the same cards? Im about to buy the GB 275 in the for sale section

Just received my new EVGA GTX275; got it from a member here. First work unit on this puppy, mighty improvement over the 9600GSO it replaced (that was still the Folding Queen though lol!)

    Anyways, here's some PPD's from a 787 pointer -

    EVGA GTX 275 896MB - 700 core /1620 shaders /1188 memory

    Core i5 2500K @ 4.8GHz 1.31v [L041C123] | Gigabyte P67-UD3P-B3 | Corsair H60 | 4GB G.Skill Ripjaws X DDR3-1866 8-9-8-24-1T | Samsung F3 1TB |
    ASUS GTX 670 2GB| PCP&C Silencer 500W | Antec Three Hundred "Blacked Out" | Dell Ultrasharp 23" U2311H IPS 1920x1080

i dont get it, i have a 285 and this is what it folds. And this is on a good day, it usually averages ~7000

This is why id like to swap my 285 for a 275, there is really no diff between the two, only alot of money

His card has got to be overclocked on the shaders.

Do yo have your shaders oc'd gts? makes a big difference

I had problems with gpugrid the other day and mine that I saw for a minute was 95-9700ppd. I think the points have slowly been increasing. I do not know what a 275 does on stock shaders, mine are @1620

ill crank them up and see what happens

im at 1620 shader and 695 core 1242 mem

    ----
    EDIT:
wow, where have i been. That boosted preformance to 9500 PPD. I didnt know it made that much diffrence

only problem is now, its whining like a banshee.

EDIT 2: Now its holding at 8700 PPD. Ill wait to see results from folding stats to see if there is a significant difference

Increasing the shaders mainly will produce a significant increase in folding points. Memory can be kept at stock speeds as it does not increase your PPD; rather limits you to your overall core & shader frequencies.

I don't have a farm, but in researching a recent problem with one of my cards, I pulled all the benchmark data out of FAHMON so I figured it might be useful here...

as I suspected. Its putting your card into 2d downclock speeds for some reason. Try going under nvidia control panel: goto manage 3d settings. On the right side go down to power management mode; select PREFER MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE> Try that and let me know how it goes.

So this would mean that the 2d downclock is driver related; I knew it. Cause this is the same problem on the grid.

GTS: if this does not work; I would recommend reinstalling 186.xx drivers(I think thats what it is, will have to doublecheck).

i went back to 186 drivers, now i have problems unrelated to folding, im getting error after error while installing the driver, and my colors are over saturated. So now ill try 185 drivers, and if im at least able to successfully install that with no errors, then i see if the under clock problem is fixed. if it isnt, then ill try the riva tuner method

    EDIT
Now that im with 185 drivers, the color works on my screen, but now i cant access the nvidia control pannel

im about to throw my computer out the window

oh, and my card says hi to everyone, it says "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEE"

did you uninstall, then reboot? or did you uninstall and reinstall without reboot? The color changes has something to do with drivers. Theres a simple fix for that too. Sometimes you also need to uninstall display driver in device manager to help get rid of the driver to reinstall older driver. The drivers do not fully uninstall or something.

If that bugs you, go ask your gf if she can lend you her nailpolish.. all of it. Then drown all the coils on the cards VRM section in that and beg it was enough. Either use that or liquid electrical tape, expoxy, hot glue, etc.

Hey everyone I'm back! Old rig needs to be messed with to get working again but I have my current gaming rig folding now when I'm just using it for internet and what not with an OCd GTX 285 and an I7 with two SMP clients running. FAHmon says i'm getting ~15k PPD at the moment. Hopefully I'll eventually get 2 more GTX285's in it but that won't be for a while.

With current equipment and bigadv uberfold has been able to get just below 100k PPD. We will be adding 3 GTX480s to our arsenal. And more cpus. I personally plan in 2011 to go Bulldozer and turn my box into a server/folder/larrabee farm.

We didnt call it uberfold for nothing!
