hehe, tell me about it! I have the shakes and stuffed mine...

Hopefully they can fix it for me with the RMA, if not I will just buy another one or wait and see if the ex58a models will be released.

A quick question, would there be anyway of just using wiring and a hot glue gun to attach the wire to the solder points on the board then soldering the resistor to the actual wire?

Just trying to think of a more 'safe' way of doing it for next time.

    Thanks for the e-mail hicookie

I was wondering, could you just solder another resistor into the space, or do you have to move the one from the board?

i got mine off fine, but lost it in solder or something. I still managed to get 231 bclk now though with the new bios and pcie at just 115

So you lost the resistor, and you still manage to break the 222 Bclk wall and raise PCIe clock higher than 103MHz without any problem???

Which BIOS, the one from hicookie, or F9e?

I am not sure about Hot glue, I think that would not work. But you can solder wires then attach a resistor. I have seen it done here >>

It could be any 1K ohm resistor, I found many 0402 exact ones on eBay if you wanted a exact replacement, but I think any would do if you connect it properly as seen in the above link

Thanks for that. I wasn't too sure if it would work or not but worth a shot.

Apparently my board has been sent overseas to Gigabyte according to the place I purchased it from...

Would you know anyone that works in the RMA section hicookie that could be able to repair at my cost?

    Modding board tommorow.

I noticed someone mentioned PCI E frequency? this is 104 PCI E.....no mod.....you have to boot 100 then reboot 101 then reboot......baby steps. No diff then my AMD giga

here's a couple before mod shots.

I had strings but now I'm free.

    hello guys!
    I have problem with oc-ing my UD5, i7 920 D0 + TRUE, both lapped and OCZ 3x1GB 1600MHz Intel XMP LV.
There's no way to push bclk above 200MHz, no matter what i do. it just freezes at post screen or it won't boot at all. i crossflashed ud5 with EXm bios from page 4, but no luck, same problem. when i set pcie clock 105 or higher it also won't post with "6F" message on diag. gpu is ga 8800gts 512MB and psu ga odin pro 800w

PS I know my english sucks

Giga Au. They still don't know where my board is though...

Very small aren't they, hence why I stuffed mine up

    it possible the cpu itself,
pcie helps the buttleneck of above 220 of bclk
and urs could be cpu itself, even with this mod can't
    help with the cpu.

High IOH voltage can help push things as well demios, so try 1.3-1.4+ and see what you can get.

But as hicookie said it may be your CPU, if you can't do 222 without the mod then the mod wont really help. You need a good CPU to start with, before you even need to mod things

tnx guys, but no luck. 1.3v+ for IOH results in no post, or freezing the screen in win when using ET6

it looks like cpu has bclk wall so I'll ask my friend to bring me his D0 which works fine on 215 bclk on MSI x58 Pro E

but strange thing is that i owned C0 rev of cpu + also UD5 (not the same sample) and had the same problem. 200MHz works like a charm, but anything above...

Hello friends is a pleasure to share with you much I love this forum I now have X58 platform. But I'm stuck with bclk I failed to overcome the barrier of 222. Via air and reaches the ceiling, I'm ready to get started with extreme cooling with dry ice, I'm studying such as Isola besides plaque components using

    Gigabyte Extreme X58 + I7 920

    Rampage Extreme X48 + E8500
