Two options, uninstall the update utility or remove it from starting in MSCONFIG, i really don't understand what the problem is here.

itunes is a bad player it has a bad audio engine

i think that the best was music match but yahoo selling it to rhapsody insured that it was destroyed so the real player could get the itunes sinking that music match had the rights to. and it uses a hardware audio engine so it dosnt work in vista (it may work in xp mode i should try)

personal preference i guess. winamp is not a bad player . i just don't like the look of it.

what do u mean audio engine? do u mean quality?

    btw

i use itunes only for casual listening and quick searching tracks.. also because i dj using traktor, it natively reads itunes play lists so it helps alot when making a sets tracklist.

but i havent had a look at winamp since june last year . i might just give it a try.

I havent bothered to look for a QT alternative, I barley use it anyway. What I do is just uninstall the damn auto-update, its the biggest POS ever. It will interrupt absolutely EVERYTHING to tell you it found a update.

Turn off automatic updates LOL! Disable and removed Bonjor. I use a lot players because they each have something I like. Sound Engine,

I heard one misguided person talk about Junk Music players, oh brother. Installed on my computer is Audacity, Creative Wave Studio, Foobar 2000, WMP-11, yes, iTunes and like it, WinAMP with about 50 skins & 20 plug-ins, VLC, Roxio & Nero players, Power DVD, Creative Media Player Organizer, without certain plug-ins they sound the same.
