Finally found one worth writing home about

Mach1 cooled -15 idle, -5 loaded, IC7-G temps are from onboard sensor, so relative at best....

Screenshot is max I've done so far, gonna let it burn for a bit before juicing it.... Guess there is an OC god afterall

EDIT: almost forgot, this thing defaults in bios @ 1.475V anone elses do this?

Very nice indeed! Is that an abnormal cap cluster on the bottom of the package?
    I've seen a few but it's been a while?

Look at cpuz... It's not an m0 but sure looks like it. I think it's a new package.

no, its not an M0, its a 3.0C....... But its an EPA, the new NW. You can only know if you have one when you open the box. Its like some M0s(M0s are EPA) they love voltage like EE and they OC very well......

    Nice OC....

Its a D1 stepping, bottom of processor looks like M0 though, I got to pick from the box, first one they brought out for me had a few missing on the bottom, looked like my 2.4C.. Told them I didn't want that one, lol..

Poki, as far as I know the bottom is the same as the M0, or the EE processors, but all P4's do not look like that.

My 2.4C is missing 9 components compared to this one.

does it like volts? it DOES look like a remarked gallatin core, so even if its not an m0 stepping its pretty much the same thing.

you could remove the ihs, but it seems to be very hard to do, most people who got a remarked gallatin core killed the chip by removing the ihs, ive only seen one guy who managed to get the ihs off his m0 chip.

erm, why not just use a fishing wire to take off the IHS, it wont damage anything because if the IHS doesnt wanna come off, it wont. Just dont force it.

well afaik the newe P4s are all glued to the ihs with termal epoxy. it wont come off if you dont really pull on it... you just have to know how hard to pull. i think if you steadily increase the pressure very slowly it will come off after maybe half an hour. maybe freezing helps to get the epoxy weakened...

Not sure if it likes Volts yet, I'll run a bit harder in a few days, that processor was only an hour or so old in those screenies...

And nope, not going to try taking off the IHS, not after seeing what a few drops of epoxy can do when applied to it

Yes, it is stable, have been stress testing since I put it together, it feels like it may have some more in it, usually when I get near a P4's limit I can feel it in the way windows acts, even though stable, it just acts different, maybe a bit sluggish... Not sure how to explain it, thats my best shot. windows doesn't feel like its near the edge, I guess the next few days will tell. Even if its the end I'm happy..

Amazing overclock.... In percentage quite close to my CPU (comparing apples and oranges, i know) Good luck with the stepping, cant wait to see how it reacts to voltage

Yes, sorry to confuse, Default Voltage is 1.475, thats not where I was running it....

But here is an update, still runnig to see if its stable, so far it is, typing on it atm, while it primes and folds some old proteins..

I believe this will be near the limit without some serious volts, going to butn it in for a few days @ 4.4 then give it another shot..

Uhhm , well I'm running Mushkin PC2100, 3:2 3,4,4,8... lol, that might just be the reason, and I wasn't real concerned with SPI times, just stability.. I imagine I could do a bit better once I get some memory in it...
