Anyone who wishes to use a dual-GPU ATI card will have to choose either the 1002 or 1224 bios, earlier versions won't post. :/ I'm running 1224 with my 4850x2 and trying to hit 4GHz with my naked q6600. So far I've managed to get 3917MHz nearly 24/7 stable, IBT runs for 20-30 loops and then the whole system boots without a BSOD.

For quad core or dual core? If it's the 540-560fsb dual core difference between the 2 motherboards is not.
My dual core processor goes up to 600 FSB

I went back to BIOS 0602 and now I can run with the Clock Crossing settings at More Aggressive. I think the numerous DLL Skew Model/DS/DDS settings in the newer BIOSes made things more complicated than they needed to be.

I have E6850 and E8600 you. It's a difference. E6850 to 600fsb to get the SS is a rare performance.

its easy to make the newer bios run like the older ones buy setting the two bottem setting on the skew bios page to 1. then u can change all to more aggressive.

ive even swaped from ocz reapers 8500's to blades 9200's & both of those settings set to 1 work perfectly across both kits. to be honest the only thing i needed to change in the whole bios form one kit to the other for(fsb500x9 5:6 1200mhz) was mem volts. still totally stable, prime blend etc

without looking a my bios i cant remember the two settings names tho. posting off the gf's laptop at her place atm so cant check.

DLL Default Skew Model? If so, no setting would let me run aggressive on the 12/24 BIOS. I tried from 0 thru 5, no dice.

Does this apply to the X48 T2RSB Plus as well?????

Cause I wanna get a Q9550 - on sale) and only if it can hit 4.0 GHZ 8.5X472 - I'm used to the speed of 4.0 and can't go back now....

    I already have the cooler...

They're on for 250.00 locally - almost half their original price....I shouldn't have to fork out the extra 150.00 for the Q9650 - I'm hoping.....

250.00 would be good for Q9770 Performance...

    Let me know... Thanks

PS: if not, do I have any shot with the Rampage Formula?????

My UT X48 has started doing something quite strange lately. Anytime it starts after shutting down completely, it does two unsucessful boots (displaying 88 on the LED) before it fully boots up. Setting Mode 1 doesn't affect this. I already tried discharging the board/PSU and popping out the CMOS battery for over an hour which hasn't changed it. Any thoughts?

Well if 460 is the fsb wall then I could still hit 3910 if I was lucky assuming the 8.5 X 460

3.9 ghz for 4 cores is pretty decent...

I'll have think about this one or shell out for the Q9650 if I want a guaranteed 4.0....

but $$$100.00 extra for 100 extra mhz is pretty steep....That's a dollar per Mhz....

    Thanks

EDIT: how come ud3r and ud3p are proving better with Quad fsb limit??? - that's a slightly cheaper board - 100.00 less for me....

did you have any luck on your dead d6q ????? -

Well I get the idea... I'm gonna be gettin me a UD3P for my B-day...a little gift to my self...

I like the dual gigabit LAn and Crossfire plus - ya gotta love 3 pci Express slots and 8 Sata...

I want 4.0 on a CHEAP quad and the difference in getting the Q9550 vs the Q9650 I'll put into a new motherboard...I'm not paying 100.00 Canadian for a .5 of a multiplier....

Besides the new beta bios supports the new E3300 and E3200 Celerons and I wanna give those a try if and when my E5200 goes ass up....

....not to mention the E1600, E6300 etc....

It's gonna be a busy spring....

by the way does the DFI site EVER add new Bioses for new chips or evn update them?????

This alone is another reason to get a newer board....

every single bios after the 6xx series are crap
they finally made a good bios they messed it up after 603
the only reason to get another board is for a quad otherwise the x48 is ok

i was priming my q9650 @ 500x9 but i didnt like the high volts so i think 500x8.5 is good for today
    i'll play with it tomorow

Are you serious??? 500 Quad fsb on the UD3R????

    That's beautiful...

Let's hope I get as lucky with the UD3P.... that would give me 4.2 ghz if I was as fortunate to hit 500 - unless the voltage was a bugger...

Yep..... Quad is the main reason I'm getting it... been reading the UD3P section.... this is some amazing s**t......

    Hey guys,

I have a DFI LanParty X48 T2RS and I am looking to upgrade my memory from 2GB to either 4GB or 8GB to run Windows 7 x64 on. What is the best memory kit for either 4GB or 8GB for overclocking?

Also, I am on the 0302 bios and wanted to know if there was any use in upgrading that as well?

    Thanks!
