    The really funny thing about that is the fact that Asus Boards like the M4A79 Deluxe don't even need a bad core to fail running as X4.
    That option seems to be more likely a way to bypass the fact that ASUS still has a real problem with full unlock.
    You can see this if you try your Phenom II as X3 with 0,1,2 and 0,1,3 if it failed as X4. For me both X3 variations are working fine, but its impossible to use all 4 cores at the same time.
    Seems that instead of fixing that problem its easier for asus to make us believe that most Phenom II X2 550 have a bad core and call that a great and new feature
