Just use the most recent bios at tweaktown, the special bios just has pcie freq unlocked, thats all. Use setfsb and do it all in windows. just look at the pics in this thread for what clock gen to use...and be ready to sacrifice you board.

So, the latest f10 bios has the ability to unlock the pcie then??? If so, all i'll have to do is the hardmod correct??

Yes, special Fxx BIOS versions are needed ONLY to allow you to set PCIE freq in the BIOS higher than 103, you can just use SetFSB in in windows to change the PCIE with any BIOS.

So it is wise to use the latest BIOS and just do that

I made it to the 230's! really stuck at this point though...I am thinking I will have to wait till winter for some cold air and try again.

OK - I have stared at that first post for over an hour now; I have 'moused over' every single element in it; I have plugged in numbers that look like they 'might' be thread numbers into "http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=xxxxxxx", and I'm feeling really stupid here; I've read and re-read the 'hints' that seem to have pointed some people to this mod... HELP! Can someone PM me??? Before I completely lose what's left of my sanity?

That's exactly what I'm saying - I have read this thread, until my eyes are ready to bleed (already have an eye infection, anyways... salve in 'em, four times a day!) and I just am not seeing it! Tell me this - is it somewhere in hicookie's first post??? EEEKKK!

See page 4, think "Fire" and see the link..... Then think hard and outside the box

That's about as good of a hint as I can offer

'Fire' indeed - the funniest part, LSD, is that I finally found it about two minutes before your post! I thought "geez, that's awfully deeply nested to just be a 'file hosting thingie'... Hmm..." Thanks all, now I gotta find a bunch of suckers to send to the first post so I can enjoy the fun...

    hehe was a fun mod

just fired the board back up and it still works, i can set the PCI-E to 106 or whatever now no problems, still hardlocked in Linx at 219 BCLK though guess i need to keep playing and see what i come up with

hopefully i got a good connection with the resistor, so hard to tell with those tiny solder points... but i imagine it wouldn't post if it didn't connect anyway?

    Hi all.
    I Need help.
The MoBo is not started if temperature below 27 degrees.
Who can make BIOS which on 25 degrees will shift temperature of NB?
It is necessary to receive at 27 degrees 50.
    It to make really?

Man, I wish that I knew someone that could do this hardmod for me.. I wouldn't even dare to attempt soldering something as small as those resistors..

I can hardly see them, nevermind solder them!
