Is there any way to view the temps when running it as a quad? The core temps goes to -256C just xD What tmpin was the cputemp?

X2 550 0925APMW with Asrock A790GMH/128M and crappy OCZ Reaper DDR2-800 (wont even boot at 400mhz 1T with 2.0vdimm)
vCore in BIOS set to 1.40, CnC disabled (even tho it works enabled, puts the proc at 798mhz with 0.9vCore). I have to tweak the vCore, but anyways this is my moms comp and I'll leave it everything on auto with 4 cores (3100mhz, 1.30vcore, etc)
All this with the AMD HSF (72ºC with OCCT running, doesnt hang). I'm gonna leave it with maybe 1.3875vCore and CnC disabled, because now it's idling at 56ºC (it's 35ºC inthis room).
I'm a bit out of AMD OC, is it worth to overclock the FSB? It's cool the BEs are multiplier unlocked!

Go to Performance Control > Fan Control, there you have the FAN0 temp, I don't know how accurate it is but seems realistic to me.
Do you people think its overkill to have the proc idling at 47ºC and stressing at 70ºC?
I'm right now 1.3875vCore 17,5x200
//EDIT: Tweaking a bit more, default vCore 17x200, 44ºC idle 63ºC stressing OCCT, could be the 24/7? Temps too high?

Yeah definitely I'm gonna settle for 1.30vCore, 17x200.
Its curious with default vcore I can get an X4 3.4ghz. 3.5ghz you need to up to 1.3875v. Make you guess if this is not a rebranded X4 965![]()

Wait how are you guys getting your Temp Sensors to work, my 550 when running at X2 it works fine on 790x-UD4P (F7 Bios) but when unlocked to quad it shows all cores at -256C
Desktop
AMD Phenom II X2 550 (Quad Unlocked @ 3.4Ghz / 2200Mhz NB)
Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD4P (F9 Bios)
8GB (4x2GB) @ DDR2-800
ASUS GeForce GTX 560 Ti DirectCUII (920/1840/2200)
Corsair Force GT 120GB
LSI MegaRAID 8408E (3x750 R5)
Windows 7 x64 SP1
Cisco E2000 with DD-WRT kernel 2.6
As I said above, I don't know if it's actual CPU temp, but I use the one on AMD Overdrive > Performance Control > Fan Control > FAN0.
Seems realistic, how much I don't know![]()

When I run prime on a four cores @ stock clocks, core 3 has fatal errors. I cant figure out how to up vcore. I up it in BIOS but it has no effect. It stays the same..
After unlocking, are you guys using ACC on seperate cores or what? I can take this thing to 4Ghz on stock vcore but only for a few seconds, and @ 3.9Ghz I can proly validate but no where near stable.
If I could up the vcore I am sure it will help a lot!
MSI 785GM-E65
EDIT: I figured out how to change the vcore now, but I can go all the way up to 1.56v with 12% ACC on core 3 with no joy! Absolutely no stability..

Enabling ACC causes the temp. sensors on the CPU to mess up. I've tested this with my Athlon II X2 240. -256C in AMD Overdrive, and 0C in Core Temp. Disabling ACC restores functionality.
Yeah but also "restores" only 2 cores, I for one prefer 2 free cores than knowing my temps!

If you have the chip already, try it and tell us how it goes. It seems to be a newer batch that no one here has tested yet. There really is no definitive way of knowing if a certain chip will unlock or not. Some batches will have great success while other batches can vary from chip to chip.
