Preliminary Test of Gskill PS 2200 CL8 for P55, 2400 8-8-8-24 32M Stable

That 's a quick test but it speaks from itself

I 'm testing last Perfect Storm memory from G.Skill , the F3-17600CL8D-4GBPS... with other name, Perfect Storm 2200 CL8 2 X 2Gb KIT for P55.

* Core i7 870 aircooled
* eVGA P55 FTW 657
* G.Skill PS 2200Mhz CL8
* Gainward 295GTX
* Silverstone ZM1200M (1200W)
* GeForce 190,38 drivers
* Windows XP SP3






After some tests on eVGA 657 FTW ... it passed easy super pi 32M @ 2400Mhz 8-8-8-24 with Vdimm under 1,7V

2400Mhz 8-8-8-24 1,68V


I will do more test later with CL6, CL7, CL8 and CL9 and under cold off course

in my case its not the imc..i'm trying my ocz ddr2000cl7 at same frequency....but at a higher voltage ddr2200@ 8-8-8....the rams can't take it... if i could get a hold of these low voltage rams..it would be awesome to try

Impressive kit but do you really need fans @ 1.65v???

Just wondering if there's any use of that included fan or not, I was under the impression DDR3 ram doesn't require cooling unless you go to some crazy suicide volt runs for DDR3.

I think no but fan are noiseless ... and it s always better to cold memories to preserve it

benny, ur super pi effiency is very fast in lynnfield, 2400C8 and gskill rocks

It's very close between 6-7-6 2000 and 8-8-8 @ 2400, but I think 6-7-6 can just about beat it. Cas 8 is around .66ns off, although the extra bw helps a little (maybe tighter subs possibe at CAS 6 though), a side by side compare will be nice. I guess for higher CPU clocks at 22X, 8-8 might be the only option.

FYI , no tweaks, no CW... just tighten subtimings.. you can see the efficiency is not better than 2400C8 (my previous 2400C8 screnshot also the same no tweaks on OS, no CW, just tighten subtimings)
