It all depends on what you want to do with it... if multithreaded apps or co is ya thing go with the quad, if it's only for gaming or browsing purposes the E8400 might be nice. Though have you got any idea if it's an EO stepping ? I'm still using an E6300@4ghz for gaming purposes, pretty happy with it... and costs way less...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

I use the computer just to gaming. not know that stepping used, but I would spend the 4GHz.

looking at ya current hardware mate, OC it with 500FSB (mobo and ram should do that easily) and drop multi to eg 8, that will give you some more ooomph ( better bandwith and slightly increased CPU clocks )

Absolutely no need to buy something else...

    ES e8400's probably won't hit 4ghz.
I had one and it was 3.8ghz sweet spot and 3.9ghz max.
    Won't be E0 - ES's were b4 the C0's.

Why not just get a new retail E0 unless the price difference is huge?
An E0 should hit 4ghz for sure.

I guess you can't view the for sale forums yet but member mk-ultra has an older C0 e8400 for sale that will hit 4ghz for $80...
