Wonder how they got the CPU temps on the AMD CPU, I had 2 mobo's to try , the core readouts are pure crap on this AMD CPU and the biosses both reported temps sub ambient temps... Really weird it can't handle the AMD

    Some weird stuff :

"much quieter Corsair H50 that uses a single slow spinning 1,500rpm fan" : Mine both do +1600rpm

"As a result, even when we set the Corsair H50 to draw air in from outside the case the system ran very hot" : So the rad gets fresh ambient room air, two top fans suck out the hot air and it still performs better than when the inversed the flow with an extra heated cpu block... System temps get hotter which is logic as hot air is dumped inside the case... but it get's beaten by the stock cooler ? this due to lack of normal airflow ? C'mon. Even when you reverse the flow the fan doesn't suck air out as good as a normal fan due to air has to pass through the radiator fins, system temps overal with the H50 will be higher. It's due to the Cosmos design he says, if it doesn't have any intake fans how can the air coolers be so much betterthen ? as no fresh air is blown into the case... underpressure ?

I couldn't boot at 3.6 with the stock cooler and 1.45Vcore, with the H50 I could enter windows run and prime, (but can't read out temps correctly)

love that review. so little information about the H50 on a PII and they screw it up by using a case with bad airflow.

id still like to see what results people get if its held on the outside of a case using rad standoffs.

I have a stacker 832 SE here and four fans blowing on the whole mobo so i guess i am safe

Yea, Why did they use different cases for the Intel and AMD tests? I just seems like common sense to use the same setup for everything. Just switch MB's and CPU's. Lazy or don't know what their doing I think.

Even though it might prove that the unit under performs in some cases, he had to restest in the Intel case to get decent or more fair numbers
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

I'm sorry if it was answered already, but... can you guys tell me a bit more about the pump noise level? Not hoping much for dbA figures, but at least for a few people to tell about their experience with it being audible or not.
    Thank you.

I'm doing the AMD tests right now, will repost DB's later ( stock H50, PNP and True with same fan ) , pump really doesn't make much noise mate. My antec spotcool is the noisiest part in the rig at the moment...

is there anything like this but cools better? i want something better than a heatsink/fan (quiet) that cools well and would allow me to overclock a good amount without overheating my i7 920.. i am on the stock cooler but just want better than air.

Full watercooling i dont think is my thing, the hassle of setting it up etc.. to quieten the system further i would just use an accelero cooler on my next gpu.

any advice? or should i just stick to air cooling completely?

if there was a dual radiator version of this cooler i think it would probably be for me.

Well I broke down and bought one. Could not resist a deal, $57 shipped from ZipZoomFly after $15 rebate and $18 cashback from Bing. I was going to buy a Megahalem set up that would have cost me $100 so $57 sounded pretty good.

Ok Just a suggestion: be careful when you install the copper coldplate on the CPU: the IHS might scratch it while rotating.

Thanks for the heads up on that. I'm considering lapping the CPU, not sure if I want to lose my warranty. Money is tight right now.

Leeghoofd I got mine today and the AMD bracket comes tomorrow. I cleaned off the applied TIM to inspect the base and it does not appear to be the that flat or smooth. I saw in the review that the copper is not that thick and wondered if it will flex flat when installed or is lapping a option?

Do not lap it mate, the base is only a few mm thick, so lapping is absolutely a no no... best is to install it with the mobo out of the case to make sure it's properly seated. Let's us know what temps you get...

I posted the question at the Corsair support forums and RAM GUY said that it can be lapped and would not void the warranty. He mentioned that they had not tested with a lapped unit so he was not sure if it would make much difference. I've been very busy and I'm not sure how much time I'll have to play with this right now, but if I get some free time it may be interesting to test unlapped vs lapped.

well if it's really concave or convex you will run out of copper, I say NO ! I would ask RAMguy if you mess up and you take out that tiny bit too much if you will get another unit as once you open it and loose some fluid, it's history...

@leeghoofd - Is it a recommendation to lose the default TIM and use my own (got OCZ Freeze atm)??
