ASUS M4N82/955 problems....plz NO AMD chipset suggestions

While I didn't meet the 955 requirements.. my M4n72-E (750a) would allow me to only run up to about 3.7ghz on my 940. Put the same cpu in a M3A79T-Dlx and I could boot at 4ghz something the M4N would never do. MSI has a 980a mobo due out any day now. Unfortunately too little too late.. as I got a steal on 2 * 2.9ghz Shanghai Opterons and wont go back to AM3 for the foreseeable future.

and please, I appreciate the suggestions, but if you don't have the M4N82 and the 955...they are NOT going to help....I've got 40-50 posts about this exact topic on overclock.net already...this is a very new mobo with a very finicky 980a chip(set)...add to that that ASUS is NO help because board is still under warranty and AMI BIOS's suxxors. As I mentioned in the original post (linked above) this is NOT my first OC...but this is the first time that I've had problems that I shouldn't be having.

What "theoldtimer" said above is EXACTLY what this BIOS on this board with this CPU acts like.....it treats settings more as suggestions than as actual settings lol

One very simple example is the DRAM Timing section of this BIOS.....there IS NO MANUAL option....you can choose auto or both....as you can easily see....this makes stable OCing a very tricky/lucky business on this motherboard. I've had it just arbitrarily change my RAM timings...because IT wanted to

here's my Idle temps at 20C ambient (68F)....these are all the latest versions of these programs...btw
