    GTX295 or GTX285?

I have a GTX285 which is now used for benching only, but having first used it for gaming it's performance was satisfactory using 1920 x 1200 res.

I am thinking of getting a GTX295, but I was also thinking I may simply get a GTX285 in case there are any future game incompatibilities with the 295?

I have heard people mention problems with SLi/dual GPU cards in some games like farcry 2, crysis etc (not that I play it specifically) but I do not want to have any issues of this nature.

What would you do? Get a GTX295 and hope for the best or get a GTX285 to save any possible hassles?

I would say just hold off until the next gen video cards arrive, AMD card is just around the corner unless you're a Nvidia fan, just wait since 1 GTX 285 is enough for 1920x1200 resolution. Heck I couldn't be more satisfied with 1 GTX 275 for my 2nd rig. And why would you consider another 285GTX anyway? Based on your sig I see you have a P45 motherboard there and you're thinking of running SLI?

I'm actually using a REX as my mobo now but may change back to M2F, not sure yet, but either way I can only run one card.

The GTX285 I have currently, I have fully modded, and use only for benching purposes.

I now need to get a card for normal use, so for me, the choice is between a single 285 or a single 295. As these cards will be able to play all games now and hopefully the next released titles at decent graphics and res settings, I wont be upgrading to next gen stuff as soon as it comes out. A GTX295 would probably be a bit more future proof (if that is even possible these days) in that regard than the 285.

I'm just a bit worried about the possible issues a 295 may have with certain games is all, but I see many people who own them and have no problems.
