I never ran 8GB long term mate, I only did some tests at start for n7 on request and that was only at 400FSB or such... better pm him to get more info...

But thing I have with giving advice in templates : use it as a starting point, it could work from the start but also could be unstable... I see many users pump so many volts into the NB. I dunno why coz I never had to run above 1.36, not even for 600FSB action with the E8500. Quads and loads of ram usually need more Nb voltage and a bit more FSB term then dual cores... mostly it will be up to proper GTL tuning to get it rockstable (keep it around +/-0.81 level, seemed to work for most users)...

I haven't touched these boards since the 15xx serie biosses... no idea what has changed for the good or the bad...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

any particular reason you are pumping so many volts ? I suppose you can go far lower on FSB term and NB voltage

Ever thought that ya CPU is the limiting factor ? it is not because you pumps insane volts that the CPU will go higher...

    Try first 9 X and stabilise 400FSB

    400 X 9

    Cpu V 1.5
Cpu GTL auto (both of them)
    Cpu PLL 1.6
    FSB V 1.3
    NB V 1.3
    NB GTL auto
    SB V 1.5

You're volts are so out of line that it wil not help stability at all

    Thanks for your reply ....

am using a multiplier of 10 as i though i wouldnt need to increase the voltage on the cpu as it would increase temps but i though using 9 it would mean higher temps as i would have to increase the FSB to aichive a higher clock anyway just curious to see if this chip would higher than 4?? but ill get a new one like the Q9550?? anyway my current set up is:

    390 X 10

    Cpu V 1.68
    Cpu Gtl auto
    Cpu Pll 1.72
    Fsb V 1.70
    NB V 1.5
    NB Gtl auto
    SB V 1.4

    it runs at 50c
65c at load but that cos am watercooling...

Lower them FSB term volts to 1.3-1.4, NB to 1.3 plz, SB volts AUTO, no need to whack voltages like that...

Also it's not because ya friends Q9700 do 4.5 ( pretty hard to believe anyway for 24/7) that yours can do 4.5... and that Vcore really is not a good sign that this is a good CPU either, but with the volts you gave it , who can blame the CPU

Lower first the multi to 9, stabilize 400FSB , rams at 1000Mhz ( very important on P45 to get off the 1:1 divider for stability) with the lowest Nb and FSB term volts possible, then hunt for 4ghz...

    Hi cincyrob

before having the P5Q dlx i use to have the P5Q i have to say it a solid board pleanty of room for OC and i prefer the P45 NB, but if you are gonna Xfire then choose the X48 as it will run 2 ati better the only reason i would go fir the deluxe is cos of the 16 Phase cooling ....

2 OCing lol good choise dude with this board you can pretty much learn yourself without that fear of thinking did that stresed the board too much?? nah man this board if very well built the 16 phase cooling asures that the transistor are wel packet and cooled and you can get some crazy OC done with this board spaecially Core 2 quad chips liek mine... so good luck matey

go at least with the P5Q-E or Dlx Cinycrob. The P5Q lacks some tweaks in the bios and has lesser memory support (unless you use one of KET's modded biosses) but you will still remain more limited. Take note that with a quad for high FSB action it might be better to go UD3P. My Dlx did 500FSB with my quad BUT you will need to have good rams to get off that 1;1 divider and at 500FSB only way to go is 1200Mhz for the rams !

not many choices for 4Gb mate, good bang for the buck are the OCZ blades 9600, high end and more expensive the Gskill 9600Pi rams
