Probably playing Crysis on the sample cards

The good thing is, less rumors means less people complaining on release date.

The word is finally out. AMD will launch it’s much anticipated next generation graphics processors code name “Evergreen” on September 10th; ahead of Windows 7’s launch in late October..

If the HD5xxx seriers turns out like the HD48xxx i can see ati taking even more MS from NV. Espeical when they again undercut NV price wise.

If you look at teh steam hardware survey you see the HD48xxx on second place gaining on the geforce8800 and thats quite something.

Finally, I can expect an influx of leaks (pictures, specs, etc..) to start flooding the internet! I'm almost peeing my pants while my wallet is being set on fire, unable to wait until Sept 10!!!

[ot]Yes it really has. There is so many well-known programs that use CUDA like Badaboom and.. umm..... badaboom? [/ot]

Ontopic though I find this a very interesting release. Too bad Nvidias G300 is 2-3 months away from this launch, so there won't be much price competition.

I think everything looks right except the memory bus which should be 384bit for the RV870 and 192bit for the RV830.

Which would change the ROP count.

    Some sources are confirming 256bit...

so you are going to tell me ati stream is better?
All that said, we are very disappointed with AMD's Avivo video converter as a vehicle to show off ATI Stream. It is a poor application that provides little to no value in exchange for the immense frustration end users will have when trying to transcode video. It is not worth the time to it takes to download or the space it takes up on your hard drive.

What ATI has or does not have does not change nvidia's position. Way to not get the argument.

Arguing about the quality/potential of a programming interface on the quality of the products coded with it just shows you have no clue what you are talking about.
Seems we made our greatest error when we named it at the start
for though we called it "Human Nature" - it was cancer of the heart

Whats peoples money on that the score oin 3d06 was by 5870/50/x2 etc??

mines on 5870 as from leaked and "guessed" specs all around the web it seems it should be around the performance of the 4870x2 which is does with a slight improvement (could be cos its not using dual gpu) if thats the case then thats a awesome card if they price it right, althogh im feeling they will milk it until nvidia gt300 comes out, and they have carda at the same/similar price/performance

A bit OT, but both the Inq and Fudo are reporting that AMD has surged ahead in discrete market share (shipments). If they take that momentum into the DX11 ramp it could be quite a coup.

AMD recorded a 36.5 percent market share gain in the market over the first six months of 2009, and an 87.3 percent increase in the number of units shipped in Q2 sequentially. All in all, it now has a 53 percent market share in discrete notebook graphics. AMD is now claiming over 200 design wins for its HD4000 series mobile parts, which sounds impressive.

lol, i love how they took those "spypics" through the ventilation slot

i'm more and more excited about actual 5850/70 scores. a 5850 on par with a 4870x2 and the 5870 even exceeding it would be omgwtfwow!

Have you guys ever visit AMD section of forum?

These scores from that techpowerup link are from HD4870X2 and 6.6GHz Phenom system benched at QuakeCon2009.
It just happens that same person took spy shoots of DX11 card and posted them without description in his post.
So simply saying 3DM06 scores are NOT from DX11 card ....
