A good way to tell what your cpu's temp really is (without a probe taped to the edge of the core) is to take off the back panel of your case and stick your finger through the motherboard tray's hole and get your little finger right on the back of the cpu. If it's too hot to hold there for more than 5-10 seconds, then you know it's HOT on the other side too.
