Uh yeah - that would suck big time! If you really wanted to feel safe, you could always cover the top of the fan controller in some manner.

I didn't figure on it ever leaking. It should be well and truly through the infant mortality period now, so I'm not really concerned.

EDIT: Did you have to do anything special to get the LEDs to stay in your res? I had to use scotch tape to get them to hold in.

No, nothing holding them in. Just the wires routed in such a way as to put pressure on the LED's to stay in the holes.
