Trying to get to 4.2 eventually, but at 4.0 for the moment and stable (IntelBurnTest maximum burn with many runs, superpi, benchmarks, etc.) except one thing - sometimes, like entering a game, a USB (such as my G15 keyboard) will disconnect and reconnect. This does not occur at stock. I suspect it could be due to one of my voltages being low. Please help me figure out which setting to adjust to stop this from happening, as it sounds like a slight bit of instability.

I filled out the template with all the settings just so you have all the information. Thanks for any help you can give on this issue!

Well, for starters try using your CPU VTT at +150mV. My C0 chips never needed more than +150mV to +200mV to run 4.2GHz and DRAM at rated 1600MHz.

Will that help me with my USB disconnect/reconnect issue?

I am not sure. I would be inclined to say no since I suspect your USB problem is not OC related but I am quite sure that for the long term health of your chip it is not a bad idea to lower the VTT a bit if you can...more in line with what I stated.

Now, in terms of your USB problem, if you go back to stock settings, do you still have problems with the USB disconnecting?

No, it does not occur when I go to stock settings. This is why I felt the issue is OC related; particularly since I left all the motherboard voltages on Auto. I'm guessing one of them needs to be raised - which one, I do not know.

I did go ahead and change and test the lowered VTT. It was just as stable at 150mV. Thank you.

    Is this normal

I was wondering if it was normal for any of the other classified owners to have a 3-6C difference in temperatures across your cores at idle? If not, any thoughts or suggestions? I little info:

I am running the CPU(core i7 920 D0) at stock speeds under a koolance cpu 340 waterblock. stock temps are a bit high (it's on a single loop with a couple of gpus) at 46ish for two of the cores and 50ish for the other two. Using real temp and Everest ultimate.

Waterblock was removed and re-seated already. It is seated correctly. There are no air bubbles in the block.

All settings are currently under auto. I have not adjusted the voltages or frequencies in the bios. Everest reports the following voltages:

    Vcore: 1.22
    vtt: 1.24
    NB 1.13
    DIMM: 1.56

NB temp is sitting at 35C idle
VRM is at 41C idle. was at 55-60 idle before I rigged a 120MM fan to my case to blow across it.

Any thoughts or suggestions or is this normal?

    Thanks in advance.

clone is that just one cpu in your loop or is it a cpu + other LCed components on the same loop?

    Classified problems

Guys, Im posting this for a mate because he has been asking me for help but hes not a member here so here it goes:

E760 with w3540 on cascade, all worked fine with two 4870x2's but now with three 4890's os is seeing three gpus but wont let him CF with all three , two work fine and tested all three in various combinations and all three seem healthy , so what could cause this ?

Also what bclk should he be able to get with this ? He can bench up to 227 but anything after 222 or 223 and the scores drop .

    Any help would be great.

If the scores did drop, you should try to find the right IOH value, especially for 3D...

Im pretty sure all the slots seem to work and all three vid cards work , they just dont want to work together. Hes going to see the Classified and get a ga-x58-extreme but I wanted to make sure its really the mobo first.

I did not really mean there are dead slots or such... I was referring to different slot configs as 1/2/4 and 1/3/4.

Sometimes clearing CMOS helps. I assume your friend was also examining if his problems had appeared due to driver issues?!

I thought about buying the Classified because it has the fourth PCI-e 2.0 X16/X8 slot but only if I can run a fourth GFX card? I can see that the fourth PCI-e X16 slot is close to the third slot but I planned to use a PCI-e X16 ribbon adaptor to place the fourth GFX card just off the MB but does the motherboard support this installation? I know that CCC/ATI drivers support four GPU’s using either two or four GFX cards.

The main reason for wanting to run four GFX cards in the Classified though would be to use four Nvidia GFX cards, four Evga GTX 260’s to be exact because I already own three. I know the Nvidia drivers support four GPU’s (two 295’s) but do they support four separate GFX cards?

oldtimer- there is a thread here somewhere with four vid cards being benched on a classified , so I would say yes they support four.

SAE - yeah mate I know what you meant , I am pretty sure he shuffled them around every way possible, and could it be drivers when two bench fine and even two 4890's plus a 4870x2 all bench fine together ?

Thanks aussie-revhead, I searched through this thread but the best I could find was two 295’s and three ATI GFX cards. Maybe I missed it or maybe it’s in another thread? Thanks anyway.

I have a problem entering bios on a system restart.
I am using a razer lychosis keyboard and when I restart my PC, it boots to vista so fast that if I sit and tap DEL it seems to just go straight to vista.
I can get to it if I shutdown and restart.
It seems the MB is entering vista faster than powering on the keyboard.
    What could be wrong?
Also are my NB temps of 50C idle okay?
Loving the MB though, I can get my DO i7920 to 3.4 GHZ on a 1.14V stable.
    Thanks for the help.

i am 100% stable at these settings, but i would really love to hit 4.4 and with less volts.

    any advice?

    Hi, Guys.
As we all know classified is the best mobo for bclk, but only when rising it with eleet or setfsb. Is there anyone who can POST over 220bclk(225-230+), and where`s the key? I can post at max 219bclk from BIOS(using E760), everything above that is not working and the board boots with 133bclk, when I go to win and rise it with eleet no problems but I want to know is there a way for booting more than 220bclk.
    Thanx.
