I have the X-ud4p version. It unlocked the 4th core, 3.6 x4 prime stable. The cpu fan header was dead from the start and the onboard ethernet connection is dodgy at best. Sometimes it connects sometimes it doesn't. Seems it is prone to fail completely according to some on Newegg. I don't think I have ever owned a GB board that actually worked completely and this is no exception.

Drivers on the GB site are in packages rather than individual drivers, makes installing confusing. I installed raid for one day and it crashed due to corrupted data, PCI not "really" locked?, anyway now I'm back to a one disk OS, while I ferret out the other issues. When I went to buy they had 5 in stock, 4 open boxes returns and one new. I got the new one, I can see now why the rest might have been returned.

It did unlock the 4th core, but some things were and is still a fight. If you buy this board be prepared to look for work arounds. The bios does not auto update, so if you add a drive, or anything, clear cmos and start all over in the bios. The good news is, win 7 64 bit (7600) found all the drivers needed.

Mine needed +250 on cpu nb vid and some have needed +.275, +250 cpu, +.01 nb volt control to get stable, I'm running my SB at 1.3 (.+.01). 4 cores are better than 3 for pushing data, it's not even close. 4 cores at 3.6 + Raid 0 on my single platters "was" very very fast.

The ethernet issue: Mine won't connect at all sometimes though. http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/ga-m...62/#post302417

Well dont use the ethernet driver from windows update,, it dont work!

Use the Offical Lan driver @ Gigabyte site..
Ive never had ethernet problems on this Mobo ,,all the Betas and offical Bioses work 100% even @ 300htt....Seems you may have a bad driver/Are using the Driver From CD or your HT/PCi-E bus isnt set properly.

Last it could be the Mobo..I know numerouse people who use this exact Mobo and None of them have Lan problems. You may have the only UD4P ive ever read or seen that dosnt work with its lan. RMA it.

Also the PCI-E bus speed should be set to (100) not 101 or 110 or Auto. Especially if you are overclocking the HTT.

    Good luck.
Use the F5 bios and set defaults after flashing. Hybrid mode ive found works best for Locked or Unlocked chips .Just dont Use ACC if your gonna NOT UNLOCK anything.

Pci-e is set to auto, htt at 2000. I have tried many drivers, but not th oens you said.

I installed at PCI card and win 7 found it and installed it. No luck on connection.

I just bought a USB D-link DUB-E100 and it installed from the disk and I can now connect. I'll see if I can find that Lan Driver and set pci-e to 100.

Set pci-e to 100 and it connected! Who would have thought?

Now I just need to figure out how to take it past 3.6.

Hope it works...Anyways gigabyte has come a long way...Im happy to say im liking thier newest mobos over Asus ATm .. Bioses and Customer/RMA support way better.

The Biggest thing was the Double layer Mobos and price for performance. Ive used Asus for five years and some Biostar inbetween. By far im having most fun with these New Gigas.

I will be getting another but DDR3 soon , looking for that OPENBoX special

You were right, win 7 driver did not work. For whatever reason, I did connect a few times, then would not connect again. I'm using the Vista 64 driver and it connected, at least for now. Thanks for help me.

I'm stuck at 3.6, I might be able to do 3.7 if I drop the ram mulit to 333 and run loose timings but 3.8 is not reachable even at +275. I'm only running ddr2 800 but I have had it over 900 on my asus board. Nothing I have tried though will get me past 3.6ish. I can run 3.6 at 800mhz 4-4-4 or 3.7 at 667 5-5-5.

Any suggestions or am I done?
