I'm glad to see management step in here.

Like everyone else, I have NO problem with cutting away a cancer from the body, an organization, an internet forum, etc.

It's when you start chopping off an arm at the shoulder to remove a fingernail cancer (hypothetical situation) that you run into trouble.

To the people here who seem to shrug and say "who cares, it's not our site": XS is what it is because of the members. If the members don't like things about the way it's run, it's far better that they speak up to make things change than if they just stop coming. Then we'd see one of the best enthusiast sites on the net get reduced to the level of EOC. No one wants that.

I don't need an explanation, but I did need to know that someone addressed Vincent's concerns directly. It makes me very happy to see Fugger taking steps to ensure that he gets fair treatment in this matter. Maybe no one "owed" Vincent anything in terms of legal obligation, but he's been a positive influence and he was thrown out with the rest of the garbage. If you understand the first thing about relationship management, you understand that he is owed an explanation.

would you go in the public and mention that you are a member of such and such forum or does it, in the back of your mind... concern you of the negative repercussions of being "affiliated" with a certain environment?

i've nothing bad to say about those folks... of course, i have my opinions.. but i do not feel that this is the right place to say them... nor have anyone given me cause to say it out in the open... but i have to admit... certain actions is of concern... especially if i am a business owner...

we live in the ages where we have to be careful of who we take photos with... it's ridiculous... but i guess all the sexual orientation comments bother me... since i do have many friends who happen to be gay... and in the fashion industry... i work with many of them...

just like to know your thoughts... and other vendors as well...

I dont believe it is the job of an internet forum to decide which business is good or bad based on where they advertise but on their service.

I'm no business owner. I'm a peon relatively speaking, but you're welcome to my opinion nonetheless.

You ABSOLUTELY have to be careful who you associate with. We have to be careful whose advertising we run on our site, whose site you advertise with, who you're seen eating a friendly dinner with, etc.

But that does not mean that a company association with someone automatically reflects on individuals within the company, or even the company itself.

From 's perspective (how many of them do you think speak fluent, perfect English?) they have their banner on an enthusiast water cooling site. They don't read the OT section, and likely don't bother with the subtleties of the English insults that get thrown around. Remember that without proper context it's VERY hard to understand profanities in another language. Here are some examples:

French: One of their harshest swear words "tabernacle" is not even filtered here because it's meaningless to english speakers. It's just a churchy word.

Chinese: One of their swear words means something along the lines of "giant sea turtle"

English: The word that is probably upsetting everyone means "bundle of sticks or twigs" if you aren't aware of all the negative connotations that go along with it.

I'm 100% open to anyone who asks me about my feelings on equal treatment to all individuals regardless of race, gender, and sexual preference, and I do not in any way condone the mistreatment of these people, but you need to understand that a site sponsorship is not always between "best buddies who share every worldview".

And frankly, what business is it of 's what some members post on there. They have awesome fittings and blocks to design. No time to mess around casually reading forums.

EDIT: I guess I'm yet another example of someone who is a member there and had no idea what goes on with that forum. I registered at the behest of someone who asked me to about 6 months ago, I posted once, and I haven't signed back in. My account is active, but that doesn't mean I'm "associating" with anyone. And so what if I was. I realize that I also wasn't banned, but I just wanted to make sure Vincent got a fair shake. I'd hope someone would have stuck up for me if I'd been banned....

Normally I would agree that it's business. This goes a bit further though. Advertising dollars that are being spent is helping finance these incoherent ramblings of an idiot and his sheep. Not only are some of them slanderous and derogatory but appear to also be of a legally criminal nature. At this point the supporting companies need to be asking themselves where the line is drawn to maximize profits.

Also the 3 companies whose banners are displayed so prominently need to be looking further then the present. It's a pretty sure thing that when time comes to part the business relationship the same type of threads will appear about them. There is nobody that can put in words what we have read and it be a one time thing. Anybody that crosses that invisible line will undoubtedly receive the same type of treatment. From a business standpoint it would be best to sever ties now rather then later.

Ok, I had gone into RRTech a week ago or so when someone posted a link to it and was disgusted with what I saw. I will not be going back. The only thing i wish to know was if B P was directly asscoiated with anything, or was it just Vincent. If so, all info should be sent to B P and allow them to deal with Vincent internally as they see fit. If B P as a company was directly linked to the stupidity, than I can see a reason for the B P ban. I would also like to know as it will influence any further purchases I make.

Also I saw a mention about SideWinders. Is Gary directly involved in any of that, or is he just purchasing ad space on that site? Information would be nice, so that we, as consumers, can make an informed decision on who to do business with.

Points:
1) RRR was banned from here for shilling for other sites.
Think about that for a minute please.
It speaks to character and his agenda.
A desire to promote himself and make money and/or free parts by constantly promoting certain companies.
Take the time and read his posts here yourself and you'll see what I mean.
This wasn't a vendetta by me or anyone here towards him.
The action of banning him was purely in the interests of seeing the people here not be pushed to any one company by someone with an agenda for doing so.
2) The mass bannings, 32 of them to be exact
This took place because of actions by one of RRR's members: Worthy.
He posted a disgusting homosexual picture in Ashraf's birthday thread with Fugger's face photo chopped into it and then went back to RRR's site, posted a screen shot of it there and the "group" all came in for a good laugh over it.
Then another disgusting pic using chopped pics of Charles and Vapor was posted at RRR's site by Joel himself.
After viewing comments there that said to me they were coming to post those here and also to crap the threads in the LC section it was decided to "get rid of them" for the good of XS.
I then spent over three hours going threw threads in the 'It's a surprise show" threads at RRR's site and made a list of the people who were posting what I call "Hate posts"
and those 30+ people were banned here as they seemed the ones that would be coming to post that crap here.
That thread has been edited extensively by Joel in the last 24 hours but I have over 30 screen shots taken before he edited them out.
After the bans were done there were at least two more postings here of the pic done by Joel and they were immediately removed and the posters banned.
Then there was a post by KaptKrunch on RRR's site soliciting people to do a DDOS attack on Xs with XS's IP and info posted there.
As to B*P-Vincent and Bits-Power that is and has been Fugger's call not mine.
He saw something that evidently set him off and thats between him and those involved.

Now you read all of the above, add in that those that know me know ALL I do is with the best interests of this site and you tell me if you think we overreacted.
We had two choices;
1) Stand by and ignore this and hope he just went away.
That wouldn't happen.
Your dealing with a megalomaniac with delusions of grandeur who thinks he's God's appointed person on earth on the subject of water cooling even though as far as I can find out he's never even completed one water cooling build.
2) Take preemptive action and remove the potential disruptions to this site and that is just what was done.

The stuff they are posting is also a clear violation of their ToS, I personally have enough info to send to their ISP to get the site pulled if I really wanted to. That is what I've tried to do with my post above and in post #71.. To say to the members here that this is what happened and why we took action and that action needed to be taken because of actions of posting filth here, seeing that the people at RRR appeared to be setting up to do more of the same and then after the fact seeing people there enticing others to bring a DDOS attack against us.
I don't go to that site daily looking for crap. I was sent info in a PM that "Dave, you might want to see what these guys are planning" and once I did passed that info along to Charles.
I spend my time here with friends and honestly, sites like that have nothing to offer..
They play to the children who get a kick out of being able to post four letter words and the mental cases that are so unhappy in their own lives that the only joy they get is in holding others up to public ridicule.
More to be pitied than hated in my opinion.

I don't think anyone disagrees with the bannings. But blocking the name of a product? Effectively putting it in the same class as an expletive? I think that one speaks for itself, and even though I don't believe that was the intention, that's how it's gonna come across to a lot of people, and just be downright confusing to others. Elegant it is not.
