I obviously can't speak for the custom one, but I have the regular face plate controller from Lamptron (this type), and it's dead silent - I also have a Logisys fan controller that squeals like a stuck pig

Good to hear some are having success with the Lamptron controllers. I have the FC-2 - love the looks but I get the squeal with the fans turned down.

Sorry 'bout that job stuff, S_D. Another 40 years or so and you'll be a free man (but, trust me, updates don't come faster when you're retired - cause you think you have loads of time and it's easier to get sidetracked).

Wow, that looks amazing. Did you get to use your new drill press for that part of this project? I can't wait to see the rest of the motherboard wiring.

Nice sniipe, the wires turned out really well!

I'm still trying to get used to the painted Supreme hold-down plate, i reckon you should have left it stock (chrome). Just my opinion.

    he used a drill press

any1 else think that it would look better if he had 4x 4890 or a killer nic/sound card in the center of gpus like its trapped

edit- sniipe just informed me on vent that he did not use a drill press and actually has lasses for eyes so cut the holes with that

Wow that looks awesome. What tubing is that? Really attractive colour of blue

Is that the EK Supreme CPu waterblock btw? And you're painted the mounting thingy black?

just wondering what other options there are for an AM3 CPU block, they seem a little limited.

Haha, originally I wanted to do it straight from the PSU but a couple things stopped me from doing that - One was the difficulty to access the solder points inside my PSU and the other was the lack of control I would have over the wires with long wires all the way to the PSU, I had to be very very meticulous with my wire cutting and crimping to get these the right length, it sucked and was so tedious to be honest

Hey man I know the feeling, has happened to me many times in my time modding :\. For me I am always thinking and twisting around ideas in my head, and I try to implement my best ones, but a lot of the time I dont get around to them and they just sit in there until someone else does them first thats why you have to have many ideas . And the least we can say is - Great minds think alike

Indeed the drill press was key, best tool I have bought.... ever.

Glad you like it sharon, I wanted to show it off a long time ago but it was never quite ready, I made the prototype plate like 3 weeks ago but I messed up with the spacing a bit so I couldn't show it.

This was all hand made from a piece of 1/4" thick delrin using a drill press - I used solidworks to figure out the hole spacing, hashed out the cut area with the sharp ends of my digital calipers and used the hand center punch to finalize the hole locations. I then used my drill press to make the holes with the aid of some clamps and a piece of 90degree alu extrusion as the X-axis guide to keep the holes in a perfect straight line. Lastly I sanded with 100 then 320 and primed once and painted 4 coats of satin black krylon spray paint - sun dried for 24 hours.

    TY twwen

I have both a black plate and a chrome one, I may try switching it around but I craze getting away from stock so I think I will stick with the black

I will make the controller contest accessible, I still have not finalized the date, but if you have followed FUGGER's recent Simon Says contest, then you know what type of madness to expect from mine . Ladies and gentlemen ready your watercooling parts freed from the case of your computer. (big hint for my worklog readers)

As for the space behind the mobo tray, its funny you mention that lol because in this case there is very very little, I will be squeezing wires tighter than ever here!

And since I said I would have more pictures, here is one to finish off tonight

EDIT: wouldnt want to miss dreamaxx

Its my always faithful primochill pro LRT blue 3/8"-5/8" tube, it is a nice color when lit brightly with white light, not so much in a dim room.

and yes its EK supreme with the accelerator plate removed and the bracket powdercoated black. -it s a shame there arent so many AM3 blocks, but HK3.0 and EK supreme are both am3 compatible so youve got two of the top performers right there.
