Yeah mate I was going to get a Megahalems but I found a TRUE Black for £38, total bargain. Just need to decide on a fan then place my order, will have it on Tuesday and I can try 4.3GHz again without starting a fire in my case.![]()

Silverstone FM122 is what I'm gonna go for; it's only 32mm deep but does 110CFM at full speedunlike other fans in that price bracket it comes with a fan controller so I'm very taken with it.
Still haven't decided whether or not to lap/washer mod the TRUE...

Grab one and controll it with a rehobus or some other controller it has the best static pressure you can find, have 3 on my rad at 6,5volts

Hoss: No that was before and after lapping with my True. Much cooler now.
I got those 1.8v OCZ's to boot at 1200mhz+ using the 250a , but need to work on getting them stable. Then tried the Reapers and they boot up easy at 1250mhz 250A PL8 turbo but again not stable yet. Neither set will do 240b pl8 1200mhz, the reapers are ddr2 1200 lol.

Oh ok, good dealWhat settings, voltages are you using for the blades? Turbo never seemed to make a difference over standard for me, same benches and everest scores. Extreme is the only one that seems to make a difference but Ive only been able to use it on the 3:4 2.66D strap, other than some stock settings. Extreme lowered my latency 2.0+ns and around 200mbs higher reads.
At least washer mod the TRUE, but lapping + washer mod greatly improves the cooler. Washer mod takes no longer to do than a normal installation though, so no reason not to![]()

I have been running at 500x8.5, need 1250mhz for that with the 250a-4:5 divider. Have gone as high as 1.9vdimm and 1.50v MCH, trfc 68 but still cant get stable. Have had better luck using the Reapers but its only a 2x1gb kit. Have you had any luck with 240b? I cannot get into windows at 1200mhz 240b even with PL9.
2.40B has had some issues for me with all my ram sets, but only at certain fsb with certain mch voltages and even then it depends on if im using the yellow slots or the red slots. With my blades 2.40B wont boot with mch higher than 1.36 when fsb is about 480 or less when the ram in the yellow slots. For some reason if the ram is in the red slots it will allow me to boot up with about 0.02-0.04 more mch.As I move up to 500fsb I can boot up with more mch and have no problems with 1200 on 2.40B. These boards seem to undervolt vdimm so check your actual vdimm for me. Boot up at a stable ram speed with 1.90 vdimm in bios, run prime to load it and check what everest displays for vdimm. Use ET6 to bump the voltage to the 1.92 setting then the 1.94 setting and check each in everest. On my setup 1.90 in bios/et6 only loads to 1.87 in everest, 1.94 only loads to 1.89-1.90 in everest, what 1.92bios would be. 1.92bios/et6 will not work for me and shows no change in actual vdimm. If I try to boot 1.92 it will come up as 1.90 in et6 and if I try to set it in et6 it keeps reverting back to the 1.90 setting. Your using a different bios so yours may not act like this but since 1.92 is borked on my board I use the 1.94 bios setting for the 1250 runs and 1.82 bios (which loads to 1.80 in everset) for the 1200 runs. If you want to move the ram over to the red slots and try to boot 1200 2.40B at 5-5-5-18 with 1.38mch, 50 mch skew, 1.94 bios vdimm, and sub timings on auto.

Im using a carefully lapped true, with sythe ultra kaze 2000rpm in push/pull configuration. I've lapped the IHS as well, use washers to add mounting pressure and at the moment use Artic Silver 5 paste. Overclocked at 4300mhz, I am running low 60's while running prime95 on small fft. For me, at this clock the true does the job. To get any higher overclocks I'm gonna have to get more aggresive with the cooling I suspect...
Yeah I noticed it is loud, but only at 2400rpm - I won't likely use full speed other than when priming, and stats show approximately 20db at low speed which is the same as my 9700, inaudible from outside a closed case. Perhaps you can verify this? Also what size is the controller?
The TRUE and FM122 should arrive tomorrow, and I've bought a lapping kit as well so she'll get a good lap before installation. As for TIM I'll probably use my STG-1 paste as I have tons of it and it's probably better than Thermalright's stuff.
Your vcore is a little lower than mine but still, that's very impressive, fully 20C cooler than what I'm getting with my Zalman. Looks very proimising...Originally Posted by kahuna321
EDIT: just realised that they do a FM122B which has a black controller, so I'm now getting that one.![]()

I got my water setup and am trying to get IBT stable. Max temps are around 65C. Running IBT on max it will just lock up after 3 or 4 results. Here are my settings. Where should I go from here?

TooFastForYa: set the Static tRead value to 9 using 200d. See how that does, also set MCH/DRAM Reference, DRAM Termination, and Channel A&B ref's to auto. Try 5 5 5 15 also if it still doesn't fly. Maybe a bump in MCH voltage but shouldnt need it for 900. If that passes then work on lowering your vcore. May not need that much for 4.05ghz. You can just set the MCH Frequency latch to auto, then try the 240b-5:6 divider and see how that does also but with 240b try setting Static tRead Value (performance lvl) to 8..

I know how much you guys love VID info so I finally added that back to the main page of RealTemp like the good old days.
It's real time VID so that can change depending on power and bios settings between idle and full load.
http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/3/...alTempBeta.zip
There's an option in the Settings window to show the timer instead but I agree, VID is nice for screen shots.
Hoss: I booted using 250A PL8 1.36v mch 1200mhz 1.9v bios failed Prime blend instantly, went up to 1.44v mch in et6 and is holding so far. Looks like the board doesn't under volt much like my Rev1.0 board. Could not get it to boot at any voltage using 240b. will keep trying.
unclewebb, will try that for sure, nice feature.Thanks.

I havent set to 1.92 yet, will try that tonight after this Prime run. A little out of sync but passing.
EDIT: tried setting 1.92vdimm in ET6 and it reverts back to 1.90v. Had to go up to 1.94v for it to change, and then in Everest it reads 1.92v.
TooFastForYa: I dont know of anyone that has run 200dPL8 but maybe I am wrong. I have to use Pl9 for 200d or it will not pass.

So what latch frequency and memory multiplier is recommended for 450x9?
hello~ i am a newbie, just got a q9650 with rampage formula
but there is a problem, i have 4hdd where 3hdd have vista in it
so i found that if i need to boot correctly, i must disable the 2 hdd drive in the boot drive selection
otherwise i get nothing showed when i power on the computer
now the problem is, when i try to overclock, no matter whats the setting is, i can boot after the first time modification but not the second time
like sometime i can boot up with 467*9 and i want to set the voltage lower so i enter the bios again, when i set the voltage lower i cant boot up
so i thought maybe the voltage is not enough, then i clear cmos and re-do the above thing, on the second modification, i change nothing in the bios
but it just cant boot up, so whats the problem?
i even tried disabling the other sata drives except my main hdd, putting 1.42v for vcore, 1.45 for nb etc
so i thing the voltage should be enough, i just cant figure out why the bios only boot once
thanks
also is there some example of q9650 with a rampage formula?
i just know how to set vcore, nb v, pll and vtt, want to learn more
thanks
