Awesome. Sata 6Gbps and 128 Phase power (notice the sarcasm) FTW!

Gigabyte is one of the best, this is going to be a solid board, the UD5 is the most popular X58 board by far, and one of the best! Should be here in August.

I love everything about Gigabyte boards except the freaking color scheme! The EX58 series looks a lot better than their other boards tho IMO.

I wonder if us that own the x58 (non-A) Ud5, will be able to RMA the board and get the new X58A-ud5 as a replacement. Or have some type of step up program to get the new board, those 24 phase power system's are sexy and the sata 3, I am liking that already.

I think you would have a good chance of getting an EX58A if you waited for all their EX58 stock to leave before RMAing, dont know though.

It will be interesting to see if the 24 phase power actually provides any benefit. I am not so sure it will, but it may have some benefit on Gulftown.

I would imagine they would be a little more than the current X58 lineup from Gigabyte. These boards have a few other cool features such as BIOS Quickboot and OS Quickboot that seem pretty cool. Right now the SATA3 chip from Marvell they were using is causing them some trouble so I don't know if it will actually make it to market w/ SATA 3 .

There's a post with a link somewhere saying Asus and Gigabyte have to redesign their boards due to this problem. So that being said, they said it will be another 5-6 weeks before SATA 3 will be out.

I doubt anyone but the motherboard makers themselves can answer that question. I would guess that Sept. is the earliest we can expect SATA6 boards.

i should have been clearer. i was referring to the GA-EX58A boards rather than just SATA6. I have an opportunity to wait a few weeks (maybe even a month) to get a LGA1366 motherboard. I was thinking if its going to be released soon, ill just wait and get one of the upcoming boards. If not, ill just purchase one thats currently on the market.

Well, if I were in your shoes, I wouldn't wait. Perhaps you could find a cheap used board and sell it at a loss when the EX58A comes out.

eh, its not worth my time & hassle. if i had more time on my hands id propbably consider it. it pretty much comes down to either wait or just get a board thats out cureently for me.

You'd probably have a better chance of finding a good deal on currently available X58 MB's. You can always wait forever, and never get anything. Newly released hardware usually isn't priced very well either.

my biggest concern is DOA and the questionable reviews iv been reading with the current Gigabyte boards that are out. I was hoping that the new line of boards would be more stable and less likely to have any major issues. i know there is always a chance of DOA but iv been seeing more than just one every here and there. but its like you said, it'l be like waiting forever to get a board if i were to wait.

(i don't mean to hijack this thread if it seems like it. )

I've noticed the DOA thing with Gigabyte boards on Newegg as well. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Gigabyte has just as many DOA's as everybody else. I suspect that there are just a couple more reported DOA's on the Egg and its a coincidence.

    5-6 weeks from mid July?!!!
So it'll be September+ before they're in local retail outlets!

By that time Lynfield i7/i5 CPU's and P55 mobo's with the new socket will be available.
Might as well get one of them! Sheesh...

I would hope they are coming soon, and when they do they do not have a 230 base clock wall like the ones we have now. But they look pretty solid now 24 phase power and sata 3 O boy!
