Yesterday we had a first test with Classified E760 and our Xeon W3540 together with ln2. We could reach this:

Unfortunately efficiency isn't really good. But we have to deal with a horrible coldboot-bug at -27 degrees. Once the system is up and running we can reset and reboot normally. But once we change uclk, memory-timings and/or qpi-settings, the system shuts down completely and we only can boot again when the temperature is at -27 or less.

So we just set "safe" uclk and memory-timings and started to look for max frequency of our xeon. It passed cpu-test at 5,460 mhz but at full run it only reached frame 39 of cpu-test #2. So maybe with finetuning we can pass the whole benchmark at this frequency.

Yeah, we noticed that you are only 21 points ahead. But I think you are safe for the next few weeks. We have a few litres ln2 left (maybe 15 litres) but the next two to three weeks we don't have time to bench.

If we can tweak the whole system right I think we can come close to 38k with it.

I just tested the E760 fast on LN2 with four 4890s.. I think I got the EXACT same score as hipro in 06, at a tad lower clock.. 5.3Ghz cpu.. screen is ofcourse on the bench harddrive, will ship it over as fast as possible.

I bumped the uncore up to about 4200Mhz on this run, but the coldbug appeared earlier than before, I was at -115C when it started bugging. I ran about -140C before, anyways.. I will test this board some more, seems to my that 100Mhz = 1000 points in 06.. 38k should be very possible at 5.4Ghz.

That sounds like the IMC coldbugging rather than the processor core. When you hit the coldbug at -115°C, did you try increasing the uncore frequency and/or uncore voltage (VTT)?

@ Sampsa: This is with the 9.6 Drivers - because I don't see anywhere in FM that are approved and I see yours are approved....

I ran high VTT for this, but havent tried to bump the uncore YET.. iam having the -60 coldboot thing.
