So, 300L for 5,5h of benching at 10€ per liter equals 3000€ per 5,5h or close to 600€ per hour.

To be honest, it's not thát bad. All you need to do is pre-test a dozen of chips on LN2 and use the best one for your single LHe session.

Agreed: with new die shrinkage coming into action we won't see chips running this cold.

600€ for one hour's worth of benching , we can buy ln2 for a week's worth of benching here in the UK at that cost.

Hey man, did you suggest taking the picture because some of these guys were giving off some weird vibes beforehand and you figured you were safest BEHIND the camera?? That is the only excuse I will accept from you paisan!

I just started looking for lhe last week, I can get it for around 15usd per liter. Only thing that sucks is that it comes on a truck to my Ln2 place and based on the quality of the vessel + whenever they filled it originally, there can be loss. They said I still have to pay for "ordered amount" and not "delivered amount" Yah for sure I learned the more prep work you do on LN2 the better, have everything ready to go for your final runs when you run lhe.
Looks like these guys had it down like a machine and the results show it.
It's inspirational and giving me that twitch to run again.

TWKR tested by Sampsa & elmor

    Sweet package!

Picture of TWKR CPU when it was still alive. R.I.P.

On Saturday I started benching 3DMark Vantage with TWKR while other guests were having a small competition. I prepared a system with Asus M4N82 Deluxe (nForce 980a SLI) and two GeForce GTX 295 in Quad SLI. As I posted already earlier, I got P28426 in Vantage when CPU was running @ 5,7 GHz and GFX @ 700/1600/1235 MHz. This motherboard didn't seem to work very well under LN2. I had huge issues running NB above 3 GHz, HT ref. clock wasn't working very well above 215 MHz and vcore worked very strange above 1,65V. Anyway, I managed to run Vantage CPU-tests @ 5,9 GHz and even @ 6,0 GHz but when I was taking screenshot the system suddenly shut down and mobo + TWKR CPU died..

On Sunday elmor & me started testing another TWKR CPU with Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P. Northbridge was ok up to 4,4 GHz and we ran 3DMark05 & 3DMark06 @ 6160 MHz. Running whole tests @ +6,2 GHz was problematic although CPU seemed to scale pretty well with vcore. We used 1,8 - 1,95V in our tests. Two ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 were running at pretty low clocks (787/900 MHz):

    3DMark05: 46843

    3DMark06: 34916

After these tests we were done with TWKR and started preparing our system for liquid helium.

After we sacrificed a chip and board to the OC gods it seemed we got a good one. We used one of my duds just to be safe.

Nice TWKR results elmor and Sampsa. Sorry about the chip's death, looked like a nice sample.

I'm sort of curious though, about the configuration choice for the record-setting rig. Why not 4890's, especially with SF3D's new BIOS fix?

We ran out of time. First time I could test 4890 under LN2 was thursday night and the event started on Friday.

We just have to check few more things, before we will start using those cards. This "fix" bios might also be delayed a bit Sorry!

Well.. I have seen some talk about bios modifying in 3D section, so maybe people don't have to wait this one

Research says that it's close to zero.(Shops that sell LHe)
But if it's urgently needed, we can always come to Finland, it's not very hard.

I get LN2 ~0,30€/L and it comes from Finland (AGA/Linde Gas).
I once asked and LHe is possible also, but only a proper amount because it's delivered from Finland also. Price around 10-15€/L...
But this is "end-user" price so there has to be some cheaper way for LHe.

Sampsa, who is Your LHe dealer?

Liquid helium comes from AGA. There is also company called Woikoski in here, who have Lhe, but the price is higher.

It's all about trying to get nice deals. I'm switching companies for my LN2 and now I go from ~ 3€ per liter to 0.7€ per liter.

    Thanks George!

You were on my invitation list in the beginning, but then I thought you would not be able to make it. It is a shame.. would have been nice in any way.

Well.. The efficiency is the key here and we have to do our best to compete this guy, who ever he is Clockspeeds might got a little boost as well in the near future

Few words about the price of LHe.

It is totally unnecessary to talk about it. Think about it this way; In Finland you will have to pay 158€ / 20L of LN2. That is the list price for consumers like me. Take 40L and you paid over 300€ .. 80L and 600€. In a year you will use definitely more money to liguid nitrogen than to LHe even if you pay one session by yourself.

LHe is the ultimate element in benching. First you bench hundreds of hours on LN2 and when everything is ready, you will try to do your best with the coolest stuff you can get.

I do understand what most of you mean here, but I also see how cheap LN2 is for you. Stop complaining, if you can get LN2 almost for free. Come here and pay my price
