How far do they go PL8?

EDIT: Wait, I saw that already.

    2 Mhz difference between PL6 and PL8?

Looks like G.Skill is using the same Elpida as OCZ has (for the 1200 kit anyway).

Cool as long as they are $20 cheaper than OCZ...$100 for the 9600 kit is kinda DDR3 pricing and ridiculous...

    *coughs*

1150 Plat kit for $81.99 CAD?
I just bought mine for $75 USD on the US website.

Not one kit of G*Skill DDR2 Trident is on the CA newegg shelves.

The only review for the 1066 (8500) kit on newegg.com said he had to push 1.99v into his to get it stable at advertised speeds.
The 9600 kit debuted in US (newegg) at $83. It's now selling about $90 for the Blade "fancy" kit and $84 for the Platinum XTC kit.

Well, OCZ was giving them a very large portion of stock and newegg kept selling out. They just got new stock 2 weeks ago I believe and the 9600's are sold out on both sites again. Makes sense, but it's up to newegg what they advertise on the CA site and the US site...I mean it's one company.

Yup, & they kindly only have a few of the low voltage kits on their site. :\

    I wanted the 1200s, not the 1150s.

Now i'm just going to wait & see if the G.Skill 1200s ever show up in Canada.

I already waited forever for them to put only some of the OCZs on the newegg.ca site, & NCIX & clones have gotten NONE.
    So what's waiting longer...

I think that this guy is testing them on an AMD platform. I saw on GSkill's web that they are tested on Intel X48, P45, x38 and P35 mobos.

I can run 4 sticks of them @ 550mhz 1.8v with no problems, but I can't go ahead, no matter what voltage I apply to the sticks or NB...

Tonight I will reseat the NB heatsink with AS5, and the cpu cooler also. I will start making new tests to see if they can reach almost 600mhz... I don't know how much voltage would be safe to do the tests. It's known that 2v would be the limit of these Elpida chips.

I didnt do it . Everybody says that they have Elpida chips, but I am not sure... This is the reason why I don't know how much voltage do I have to apply them... And if they are Elpida, I don't want to burn them...

If they are, the Blades work on AMD platforms with stock volts.

I ask because they behave like PSC. Hitting 1100 and stopping sounds alot like Powerchip behavior.
According to Tony, just about all the Blade Elpida will get close to 1200.

I'm in California so I would have to pay tax plus shipping costs from Newegg so roughly $68 for me.

Aside from the inferior heatspreaders this should perform identically for $51 shipped for me from Amazon:
(I believe these are identical to the ocz lv 1066 blade set other than the heatspreader)

    I think I might bite...

    EDIT: Arriving next week...

Apparently the LV 9600 GSkills are now available at the egg. If there using the same chips as the blades there wanting a premium for these, $140. Hopefully they clock well to justify the price.

The 9600 Blades are $90 when they come back in stock at the Egg and $105 at Amazon. They should be more competitive in pricing - I was hoping they would be $10 to $20 cheaper than the Blade LV counterparts...

Wow, those are way too high. I'll keep an eye out to see if the price comes down after no one buys them.

I have seen the Platinum XTC LV 8500 @ 55€ in Spain. I need one of these for my dad's rig, but my processor is dying... Now it needs about 0.06v more to be stable, and temps are way so high (78ºC prime blend...), so I think I will save some money to buy a Q9650 next month.

About the ICs on these Trident sticks... I dont know what ICs do they have, and it seems very difficult to take out the HS... If they were PSC... they would scale with voltage. These sticks just do 550mhz, no matter what voltage I apply to them.

I will wait until someone test these sticks to compare...
