Shazza... you are one lucky lady!
btw, you had me going with the unlocked multiplier thing, hehe![]()
What is this unlocked multi, Its alright shazza I am clueless as well, Great build btw , Inspired me to drop $400~.
Kate from John and Kate make 8 is an unlocked multiplier . . . seeing as they are divorcing.
"Thing is, I no longer consider you a member but, rather a parasite...one that should be expunged."
Lol Agreed with Sniipe that was very bad. I feel bad for J and K.
well if u guys think real hard theres only 3 unlocked D0's.
Unless u get into the dual cpu boards where there is only 1 unlocked D0.
And my sig lists 2 of them, and its the one thats not on my sig.
So u guys should figure it out by now. :P

A very nice Xeon W3570 ...
Nah, just decided to take a break from sleeving - that comes tomorrow. Got my AMD 955BE stable at 3.6 GHz - can get to 3.8/3.9, but not for 24/7 crunching. Apparently Vista 64 holds it back a bit. But, temps never go over 40.
On the new chip, I can get to 4.4-4.5 pretty easily, but haven't quite worked it out to be Prime stable at those clocks. Got it running now at 3.8 with Vcore of 1.18. Nice thing is, compared to the 920 C0, Core temps are 8-10 degrees lower and Vreg is 10+ degrees lower. Makes a lot of difference since the PC tends to overheat my den.
Please tell me u set the multi higher then 22!
u need VTT for these badboys.
Roughly around 1.375 - 1.4 to hold HT ON @ 4.2+
When i was playing with your chip for a little bit, i had hold 4.4 at 1.3875 Vcore + 1.86 PLL + 1.375 QPI. /w HT On.
But i was on a classy.
Shazza u need to play with that multi. EE chips tend to have walls on multi's and FSB. So you need to jump around multi's and see which one it likes at what fsb.

Yep ... I've been researching, and I'll be playing some more. Thanks for the info. I don't think the regular x58 should hold me back much.
But ... while I want some higher clocks for benching, my real goal was to generate less heat during the summer months with respectable performance. So I'm already a head of the game. And yes, I moved away from the 22 multipliers quite early![]()
well john needs to stop with his FSB if you know what i mean.
Shazza-
Question for you..
Have you by chance ever taken a full load power measurement for your MM comp?
Curious if the Corsair 1000 has been Ok with 3x 285 SLI, i7, 3x pumps, etc.
I'm spec'ing out a similar build and was going to go with one of the various CWT 1200W units, but the Corsair is also a CWT based unit and has slightly nicer aesthetics and exterior build finish than some of the 1200W ones.
TIA for any feedback![]()
Hi Monkeypillow. Those are just regular HDs, but they are in a bay holder made by Sytrin
All I can tell you is I haven't had any power issues. The system has been on for months 24/7, crunching at 100%CPU load. My gaming is at 2560x1600 with everything pretty well maxed out - no issues after hours of FO3. No problems running bench tests / OCCT / etc. I have a Killawatt meter, but haven't hooked it up.
You just love to torment me, don't you. I dunno whether it's worth another photo shoot before tearing down - that's why I haven't done any more. What I need is a professional photographer with studio, and I just would feel a little strange calling around getting quotes

Awesome, thanks Shazza!
I'm aware that I'm totally resurrecting and old thread :p but i just wanted to say how nice this build looks, kind of makes me want a mm cube, or a lian li pc-343b horizontal, i'm not sure
