Again, I like the great selections they offer but is it just me? they shorted me twice (with some parts) I ordered. I am rather hesitant in making a large order because I may not get everything I paid and ordered. I like sidewinders and petra but they don't seem to carry much stuffs...I am checking out frozencpu now..

I did run a small distribution business and remember that my turnover was no where near as much as PPC's. I used corn/potato starch filling and the price was aprox AU$37.00 for 200lt bag (this would pack about 40-50 consignments). Cardboard boxes were ordered in bulk and aprox cost was AU$1.55 (H45cmm x W30cm x L60cm). Sealing tape, bought in bulk at AU$1.70 .Surely PPC's would have access to better pricing than me!
I can accept a small and fair surcharge for shipping to cover for materials and labor, however its clearly evident that their shipping charges are not in line with proper margins. Their responses to this and lack of understanding has left me very disappointed. At least show your customers some courtesy... I know I would

ps: Gary and family, get better soon...
    No problem at all disagreeing.
i'm just going by my costs buying retail and yes, i agree that they surely get better prices than I do for shipping supplies.
I was trying to say that there are many hidden costs added to getting an item to a customer beyond cost of the item and the true cost of shipping.
The seller runs into the question of where to add this cost.
Either into the cost of the item itself or into the shipping which IMO is where it should be added.
Alos if added into the item most people search and buy by item cost so if added there the seller loses many that just go to the place that shows the smallest cost on the item itself..
It is a real problem of where to add that cost..

PPC is awesome, they have lots of variety IN STOCK, they always are prompt in getting the latest gear, and their service is great. I never had a problem with shipping charges or anything else. In contrast, I wanted to like the other shop that's so popular in XS, Petra, but they are always out of stock, no variety. So PPC 1+

PPC is betting that folks will return to them due to their selection... and yes, i have...
i would check Petras first, then PPC... but it does concern me about the differences in freight.

maybe i should begin using my UPS account.

When you have retailers like Sidewinders, Petra's and NewEgg, there is no reasong to patronize PPC unless it is a part that you cannot find anywhere else. And in that case, I would say, exercise caution in your order.

I was about to order the EK full board block for the Classified from PPC's (for $20 more than Sidewinder), but shipping was $50 for cheapest option
Hopefully that is just a mistake.

Why not just get it from Sidewinder's ? Just curious why you would try to order from PPC who is already $20 more...

Edit: 58lbs ?!?! Something not right there. You have more added to the order.

I just went to PPC and put that Zip in for just an EK block, and it shows 2.00lbs and $10.70 shipping.

Either way, the same EK Block I just ordered from Sidewinders WITH an MCP355 Pump, cost only $8.15 shipping for both.

I definitely prefer to buy from Gary, but stock notification didn't notify me that they were in stock until they were out of stock lol. I have a Classified coming on step up program and want the block in hand before I ship off my vanilla board.

We'll see what happens with my order. It says that it's 10lbs. I did order a lot of parts so we'll see what the package says when it gets here.

Sniipe, for what it's worth, this is in the "Our Payment Policy" section when you click on "Shipping & Returns":
Our product description pages show the weight of each product. This is NOT the actual shipping weight. This "weight" is used by us to calculate the shipping charge. It is not the weight of the item. Many times we set weight so that we have a fair shipping charge which includes packing materials, boxes, etc. We will make every attempt to NOT overcharge on shipping.
So, if you feel you were overcharged (as some certainly do in this thread), complain about that. If you bring up the difference between the two numbers, they'll just point to their policy.

If Newegg sold half of the watercooling parts that PPC does, Newegg would own all of us, I mean literally, own us!

It didn't take this thread or others regarding PPC to help me realize that they have ripped me off on shipping on the majority of my orders. But I accept it cause they really do have everything you could want and almost always in stock. So does frozencpu but frozencpu makes up for cheaper chipping with more expensive prices for the actual items. Sidewinder has a great selection but it's a fraction of what PPC has.

yes see this is what I thought was the case as I stated a few pages back. for this order I did a test of sorts I ordered 320 atx female pins - I just finished counting them and I got the exact 320 pins that were individually counted out and labeled on the bag - the handling charge of $13 was worth it and provided this was a $190 order

I think the only watercooling and modding store that can match up PPCS item collection is Frozen CPU , to bad they don't order to my country. And the price are also higher

the first item (unless it states a flat rate ship on the product) always costs the most. the second item probably only increases shipping by $1, usually less (depending on weight/size of second item). Never order just one item unless you absolutely have to. and if you absolutely have to, that's on you to find the best shipping, or in some cases you gotta call the shop and ask if they can help you out and go a cheaper route.

Haha...strangely enough, I know exactly what you're talking about. Here's my recent order (screenshot was for other purposes, it just happens to fit here):

For all those connectors plus extra pins, I feel $12.53 is more than worth the shipping & effort to put it together. Hey, at least I know I'll be getting what I paid for.

On the plus side, I ordered on Friday at around 2pm EST and it was shipped that day, scheduled for arrival Tuesday. I've only had one order from them, but thus far, if Gary doesn't have it, I've got no qualms about ordering from them.

I'm pretty sure when PPC staff saw 320 they swore for half an hour and then taped up their fingers to prepare for the painful counting =___=. I'm sure they were thinking horrible thoughts about you while counting lol.

Just to follow up on my order. Everything was there; all 276 pins present and accounted for. Only 100 of those were easy to count (the large MOLEX kind)...the other 176 were smaller and individually counted (not to mention the 37 plastic connectors; but those were easy). Kudos for that kind of order accuracy. All in all a very positive experience.
