While the following photos mark the conclusion of this project, they represent not the work of one person, but the collaboration and contributions of many – most of whom I’ll attempt to pay tribute to by name. It may seem hokey or melodramatic but it would be unfair for me to reveal this creation without making it clear that the machine you will soon be casting your eyebulbs on, comes as a result of the efforts of many; first and foremost Daniel Secrieru - who challenged me as a craftsman, and more importantly, an artist. Thank you Daniel; your fantastic attitude and infinite patience made this possible. I hope you enjoy your machine and while doing so, know that nothing was left on the workbench… you got everything that was within my capability to deliver. So much so in fact, I have no idea how I’m going to top this… but as always, I look forward to the challenge.

Nils Papke (Dualbrain) – Nils pushes me to be my best – pure and simple. Nils is too smart to be duped by excuses or rationalizations… if the objective is to do one’s best, then there is no room for compromise. As Nils so eloquently says: time will pass and these machine (MDPCs) will lose relevance and one day be obsolete – what won’t tarnish however is the effort that went into making them and the relevance they will hold as a testament to what’s possible. While people will debate what they like or don’t like in an MDPC, the point is they get people talking and more importantly, thinking. What nobody can debate is the effort that goes into each and every one of them. These are the machines that will inspire future Modders and I for one, look forward to being inspired by their work. Thank you my dear friend - whatever the future holds, I will always feel very fortunate to have you as a friend.

Kirk Olson (BlueAqua) - Kirk has been a massive contributor and my “level-headed” associate – always the voice of calm and reason. Kirk is a straight shooter who goes about his duties without drama. I’ve grown to rely more and more on Kirk – largely because of how thorough and diligent he is. The real upside to getting to know Kirk has been a friendship that has formed between us – Thank you Kirk.

None of this – murderbox, murderMod, etc., would be possible without her.

These are more than names – these people are my lifeline and without them, this machine would simply never have happened.

It’s been a wild ride these past two years; it was roughly two years ago to the day that my friend Simon asked if I would build a high-end system for him. He wanted something “kick-ass” and suggested there was a considerable budget available. I thought this would be a great opportunity to attempt a liquid cooled build. I started researching on the forums and was very inspired by what I discovered. It was the people in this Community and their submissions that provided the resource needed to attempt a liquid cooled system. Like many, I was very nervous building and filling my first loop – I mean, water and expensive components… surely combining the two was madness! It was the knowledge base in this Community and thanks to the many Pioneers who forged the way for us, that ultimately gave me the confidence I needed to fill that loop and fire up the machine. I’ll never forget the churning sound of the pump, as it spun to life and the coolant surged through the hoses and into the blocks. It was an amazing experience; seeing it come to life for the first time.

I built that first "murderbox" on my living room carpet… parts and bits strewn everywhere. I hardly had any tools or even a workbench… it was as raw as it gets but I absolutely loved the experience. The thing that really did it for me though was when I delivered the machine to Simon and saw the look on his face when it was lifted out of the box and he first laid eyes on it. He just stood there, starring at it – eyes wide and mesmerized. I will never forget that moment or the sense of accomplishment it gave me; it was the moment I knew this was what I wanted to do.

All this to say that anything is possible with effort and determination. All you have to do is challenge yourself – and surround yourself with good people of course.
