Well done Charles, I'm sure the masterpiece is eagerly waiting to pose for you, you've just completed something that I can already tell will change the way the community look at dual loop TJ07's. Keep it up bro.

Thanks for the comments and kind words of support, Guys.

I'm making slow but steady progress with the pics. The weather has not been cooperating but I'm making due. I'm working indoors while its overcast/raining; trying to get some decent shots with the lighting. I've setup a mini "studio" upstairs in the workshop which has ample room to spread out. I'm using an old 40W fluorescent aquarium strip light for fill/key lighting. The color temp was considerably warmer than the sLight panel so I got a correction gel from my local camera shop and taped it to the light. All in all, it's working out. I love improvising; it's very satisfying to come up with solutions that don't involve simply throwing money at things.

That being said, I've borrowed a gorgeous lens from a friend - the Nikkor N 24-70mm 2.8. It's much bulkier than what I'm used to but I'm blown away by the image quality... especially coming from my 17-55mm kit lens. It's going to be hard to give this lens up and go back, hehe.

Well, I hope to be finished shooting by the end of the weekend. My goal is to end up with 15 unique images that do the machine some justice. I'm past halfway but some of the tougher ones are yet to be done. I figure it's best to wait till I have the whole set rather than dribble them in, a few here and there. Hopefully, it will be worth the wait.

    Cheers.

If you want you can forward me the machine and I'll finish it off to germany you take great pics though, thought of renting some nice strobe packs and light banks for indoor shooting?

IMO 24-70 lenses are easily the best for shooting computers

    Charles,

Check out this guy Jim Talkington if you have a chance.

He has several brilliant (lol ) tutorial videos on bouncing light on a budget and the results are just as nice.

Plus from his videos he sounds like the nicest person in the world.

Definitely looking forward to the final results. I've learned and been inspired by many things in this worklog, just as with all of your previous ones.

    Cheers Ian.

Wait a minute... are you insulting my 40W aquarium strip light?!?!?!

Hehe, seriously though; as I said, I love improvising. I used to work with studio setups and know they can be great - especially for high-key product shoots. That being said, all the shots I'm going to show are achieved with very basic equipment - stuff anyone can easily acquire (ok, maybe not the $2k+ lens). The point is, like computer modding, people can be pretty creative with how they photograph their machines; and it doesn't require expensive setups to do so... just a bit of effort, patience and most of all, imagination. Here's a shot using my 40W aquarium strip light as fill...

I know it probably sounds weird but I don't want "studio" looking shots - at least not yet. I don't want to over-tweak and produce unnatural looking, synthetic images. I want the machine to be the focal point, not the trick lighting. Working with such basic tools allows me to "focus" on the machine. I hope this makes sense. All this being said, I hope that when the machine arrives in Frankfurt, Tremeloes will perhaps be kind enough to consider taking some studio shots for our marketing. He's a Master Photographer and I would be deeply honored if he would take some. He and Daniel both live in the same town after all...

Thanks Kibbler; that looks like very informative stuff! Cheers also for the kind words; I just trying to do my thing here - it's very rewarding to know that some find it useful.
