    If you want to shoot macros you should go for a tripod instead of a flash imho. Reason is a flash often causes an extremely unnatural light (even if you use a bouncer). I personally dislike this light and therefore prefer a longer exposure or having a limited aperture.

    Model = Fujifilm S700/S5700
    Exposure Time = 1/100"
    Aperture = f/3.5
    ISO Speed Ratings = 64
    Exposure Bias Value = ±0EV
    Focal Length = 42mm

    Post Processing was used, I only touched the brightness and contrast. (Though the original looks way different...)

    Sorry for the depressing pictures.

    lkiller123, I like the picture. I find that the black at the top of the image is a little in the way though, although I'm not sure if you could do anything about that at the time. It would also be nice if you could post bigger images, although I'm not sure how Flickr does things.

    Lestat, I like the cat. I want to get one, just not sure if I have a chance in keeping one alive.

    I understand that tripod is a must for some of the shots but did you try to use a flash diffuser ? I'm not an expert but most of the macro photographers i have seen are using it and getting some great results.

    Lestat, I like the cat. I want to get one, just not sure if I have a chance in keeping one alive.
    that cat was found in a tree by our UPS driver when it was only about 3 weeks old. poor little guy i just couldn't leave him, so i took him home and he has been the most lovey cat i have ever owned.
    Here he is the day after i brought him home.
    just done with a point and shoot, the little turd was too fast to try with the canon dslr.

    he is a 100% camera hog and KNOWS when i am taking pictures of him, he will get into perfect poses, like the black and white, or the 2nd picture below, and jsut stay purrrfectly still.

    This was Nov 2nd 2007

    Here is is 2 weeks ago

    I've never tried using a flash myself, I just saw some results with a normal flash (not the built in) with a diffusor and it was easy to see, even my mother would've noticed it

    But the pictures with the DIY flash-ring you sent me look good Maybe I'll give it a shot some day (first I need to acquire some money xD).
