Yep next up is a real chip in Msi board and meanwhile I will test bios's on asus for one that has the least amount of bugs.........and is a tad more consistent........
Vcore bug......
HT bug.....
NB bug.....
Am I missing any others?

Well done chew* and msimax.
Chew* with regards to the stepping. I benched the past weekend with Trax using one of Flytek and Trax's Ghetto cpu pots. I have an 0915 Phenom II 955 and I'm able to 3dbench 06 at 5750mhz stable (See my Hwbot profile VPII) with 4.1Ghz NB clocks. Could only do single card as I was stuck on my Antec 650Watt PSU....the other 1200Watt PSU did not want to work with my M3A79-T Deluxe. Looking at the mobo I could not use DDR3 and for some reason it looked like it had an effect on my results when compairing to other results at the smae speed. However, I did manage 38.8K 05 single card. and 28.6K 06 single card which I was happy about. Clocking only core 0 and core 1 up for my 05 run I managed to bench at 5.98Ghz, which I know with some more time I could go higher. Had to lower the vcore to 1.79v for 4 core runs.
I have not tried clocking all of the core, but I know core 0 and core 1 can do 6.35 validation and superpi1m at 6.25Ghz.
Thats right... if you hade problems with the boards it was right to dont use the best cpus, to bad you/msimax didnīt have enogh LN2. Maybe try with the Asus board next time?... Most of the times the chips that do good on air also do good with Ln2 if the dont have the stupid coldbug.
I did use asus
Needed to find what bugs it had, check trifire results and board used.....
That air chips doing good myth is just that.......air chips that do good do good becasue they need less volts, less volts = less heat.....this denotes less leakage= less leakage not optimal for ln2.....
There is no cold bug with any chip.......there is only voltage tolerances.......

Sounds about right.....I had one chip that refused to operate above 1.7v....I got rid of it......consequently it was the best air chip I had.......
The particular chips we used were the product of me culling.....the next best chip is still on water in my MSI ( strong NB ).....The other is reserved for Ln2 only to maximize lifespan.

My chip does operate above 1.856, even 1.876vcore but I found that sometimes when I run all 4 cores, I had to lower the voltage to 1.808, or 1.79 to be stable 06 cpu test. The funny thing with the cpu test. I can run the cpu test through at 5.85Ghz, but it will fail just as it changes from the first test to the load screen for the second test. I think the reason I had to lower the coltage was the CPU pot I was using. It has plenty mass, but just not enough. I could not get the temps to go lower the -170C and it will go up to -167C unser load. It might also be the temp reader, cause when I put the temp reader into the LN2 tank it won't go lower the 174C. The temp reader can go as low as -200C but it might need to be calibrated. AMD Overdrive read -256C he he he
yah my meter is useless to sort of....we are just looking for a temp swing....We found that when the insulation lets go cpu starts to run hot.....Detonation imminent shortly after......thats when we pull the plug.....
Probably colder........5800-5900 is the avg it seems....... as well as 1.85v........
It gets really interesting when a chip will hold in windows at 2.0+ voltsmy best chip has been over that....very high voltage tolerance.....
Whatever you can boot at is a good indicator of what you will be able to do in 3d......

Nah, I only boot at 5.4 and then set it higher via AMD overdrive. I must say that I doo not get very may blue screens or system hang when I overclock AMD. It's always jsut an application that would fail, or show an error, and then I can either set the speed lower and run again, or reboot to try some other settings in the bios.
Does DDR3 make a big difference in 05 and 03? I found that my result I go wasn't that great. I mean 87K using a 4870X2 and benching with 2 of the cpu cores at 6.04Ghz....
I find that when all the cores are not in sync scores suffer.......which is why I'm a stickler for all core clocking......however getting all cores to play nice in unision is sort of an artform...
When dialed in perfect we can boot 6.1I'm a bios clocker......AOD is not even installed......

Hmmmm... Thanks for the advice Chew*.. I will surely remember that next time.
Its a nice tool, good for air and tuning your system but the fact of the matter is if it can't boot then its not to stable.

Ehh not gonna happen....thats reserved for the top dogs......
I don't like asking for stuff....and when you do it usually gets you nowhere....for instance I asked gigabyte for a workstation dual socket shanghai board......Now they won't even respond about a bug in a bios I found.....
Thats all good though...as you see they aren't the only game in town......
