They've closed their store down for now?
aqua-tuning.de
UK store is still up though?
Understood. But why is there not even one short notice e. g. on any companies website? Why are there no (=0) news telling "We are taking legal action against AT, because ..." after several days of rumors? That is what I do not understand at all.
I am awestruck
see above
Once again: No. But I want facts. And I want proves. I have to accept, that I will have to wait for ...
Regarding my relationship to AT: My shop-account-nos are 28103 and
38671 (yes, I´ve got 2, I have to be an AT-agent).
Regarding the nationality of AT: I did not state anything else.
Sorry guys, but it´s neither funny nor fair nor brainy to blame me, just because I got doubts and asked for some real proves.
I would be pleased, if somebody will send me a message when there is one.
So long![]()
Well I signed up yesterday and ordered some new EK blocks and stuff from the UK store - they have the best range of items and most in stock, plus Free delivery (with a £4 handling fee) for UPS to UK.

So, I guess your point is that it's all right for a small company to produce a product in one particular country, become somewhat successful, trademark the name of their company in their country, and yet be held hostage to anyone in Nigeria, Yemen, Germany, wherever, that decides to "trademark" the name that was established with their hard work, simply because that company neglected to run around to all 156 countries around the world spending upwards of $3K or more per country to trademark that name?
So, in that vein, please go invent and market something. I'll immediately copy your trademark and trademark it for myself in Bermuda or Indonesia, get it made cheaper in China, and steal your market.......
Sounds stupid, but that's essentially what Aquatunig is doing. Do you think Swiftech, a rather small company, has the financial resources to trademark each country individually at a cost of possibly $1M? I'd rather think countries would honor trademarks across the world just like patents are done or copyrights are done.
In fact, I think Aquatuning can actually be taken down with copyright infringement, since once the name is trademarked it's also copyrighted and we all know how copyright is heavy-handed enforced around the world.
you need to bear in mind that many of the hardware companies we love today were started by enthusiasts like us
bitspower, HWLabs, Thermochill, ek just to name a few
I run a small business myself and know that its a 24h/7d job just keeping your customers happy without having to deal with this
these companies need our help... vote with your wallets
I said that I didn't agree with what they are alleged to have done but looking at their site, I don't see them selling other companies products as their own .... if you look at their "own name" section it is simply bits and pieces still carrying the original makers name .......

man, this is absolutely not the issue at all; nobody said they would attempt to sell stuff under their own nameRegistering trademarks for them means they could simply sue any other retailer selling the same products, nice hey
(and this could also include the manufacturers themselves when they sell directly, or when they have a contract with someone else than AT).

Guys let’s not get into grief with each other. Everyone has the right to buy from where ever they like and we should not be against that nor should we be resentful/hateful towards that person/s.
Obviously there are facts, speculations and here says in this scenario with AT. Let’s all continue to get along and seek more factual information and I'm sure as this "A-T GATE" becomes clear and translucent, we will all do the right thing and give our support and backing to those who deserve it.
I personally do not call for a boycott of ATLegal actions taken by the respective concerned brand owners is the way, whatever the outcome is. That doesn't mean that I'd advise anyone to keep buying there, everybody is free.

I think scamps have a point, we are assuming the worst and jumping to conclusions. Sure something fishy is going on but should you not be considered innocent until proved guilty?
On the other hand enough evidence have been presented to put a dent in AT creditability and at least I would be hesitant to buy something from AT at the moment.

Below is some info regarding trademark laws. It's not as cut and dry as registering a name, then arbitrarily suing companies who use it. Such an environment would be impossible to do business in.

I think that as consumers we have an obligation to support the companies that provide the products we all love.
i will personally hunt down and defecate on anyone i see shopping at at.de![]()
There is nothing alleged about it. They have registered the trademarks, period, end of story.
It's sort of like finding a burglar in your house. Then saying he hasn't committed any crimes, he was only allegedly burglarizing your house. I mean, there aren't too many reasons for a guy to break into a house carry a giant bag.... That is pretty much the deal with AT right now. They got their hand caught in the cookie jar ... who cares if they have actually taken a cookie out yet?
P.S.
If you're going to order from AT at least register for their UK forums, and then PM the mod Nitrix for a 10% discount code. The first 100 people who register there get it. I have a 10% discount code lol ... I'm trying to figure out if there is anything they sell at a 10% or lower margin.

scamps has been told several people here including myself have spoken directly with the impacted company representatives who expressed concerns about this but he will only believe it if they contact him directly it seems. Scamps, are you saying you think I am lying and I do not have direct contact with reps from any of the companies? If you do not believe me then this must be the case. Please go ahead and call me out on it in open. Other forums even have company reps addressing this issue![]()
I never said what AQ's motive was. The move was insanely stupid and they will feel a severe impact. At the end of the day that is all that matters. I am positive they are very sorry that made this misstep. They have lost a lot of customers and most likely suppliers as well.
"Thing is, I no longer consider you a member but, rather a parasite...one that should be expunged."
'cmon guys... lay off scamps...
everyone has a different opinion and my guess is that he needs a bit more "convincing" and concrete proof before anyone is burned at the cross...
sadly scamps, issues like these gets publicized, then lawyers jump in, and their primary role is 2 things... get things settled, get things hidden... so you know they will have a NDA and all we're left with is some forum screenshots.
nothing for you to go do something drastic and leave a forum or something like that...
this is nothing worth fighting about... all we can do is express our differences of opinion and the reasoning behind it.
seriously, lighten up...

Some never learn bro, you can't fix stupid
And WTF is with this "alleged" BS? Per bundymania AT has already contacted a few of the smaller shops in Germany, telling them to cease sell of the products that they trademarked.I am a consumer not a manufacturer - I may not agree with what they have allegedly done but if companies do not register there marks in Europe then I suppose anyone could do so ..........
Do you even know what kind of a ball grinding process is involved with trademarking, especially in foreign countries? Do you have any idea the level of resources, time and moneylike that takes? NO, you obviously don't, so shut up.
"AT-Gate" is greatand your statement 100% agreed
This part also 100% agreed
Don´t know you at all, so how should I state that you´re a lyer? But just because you seem to do simply not want to understand me at all - perhaps it´s better we do not know eachother. From my side it won´t change ... Where did companies reps addressing this issue? This hint is that, what I was primally asking for. I still do not know any example that I can read with my old and senile eyes.
@all
A few hours ago we tried to get some information and statement from "Wassermann" (marketing AT) in forumdeluxx. But he is muzzled by his chef(s)
