DDtung stopped his massive crunching mostly right after the huge earthquake in China I believe. Hopefully he's O.K. but we have no way of knowing. I bet he's just taking care of himself and can't worry with crunching anymore.

Crunching on the CPU and folding on the GPU means that folders can start crunching which gives us more points.
WCG doesn't use GPUs so us crunchers started folding on our GPU.

yea going from sooo many rigs to one rig. Something bad had to happen to him and I think we know what it was. Maybe the earthequake really hurt him. HOpefully he is ok. seen a person go from something soooooo big to just one rig makes me think that person took a big hit. I really hope he is ok!

No, the point was that crunchers had spare GPU power that could be used for folding and folders, although they can use CPU for folding it's not so efficient. Most have found WCG less taxing in that it runs cooler and needs less babysitting.
