Still playing around ,, trying to clock the ram better and need to see what HTT has to offer with this Mobo . I have ballistics somewhere around here that are 2.0volts instead of the patriots 2.3v..

Tried my spare 2x1gig Corsair Dominators 8500's version2.3 .Oh crud and one stick is failing ...figures

Anyhow 2.3v Vdimm volts seem to stable on these new IMc's. DDR2 has come a long way thats all i know. lower volts is still better and I wish i had a AM3 Mobo...must save beer cans for that one

I think 4200/4300 might come fairly easy is with my cooling ,, So tempting,,Im having much fun ATM in X4mode.

Now i just need to retweak my 3870x2 .
Fan sucks on it and i dont want to add it in to the loop. Saving for better card down the road.

I was thinking or Priming but , im shure i may toast Mobo or PSU if I decide too lol. The Chip i know can take it but this CPU may bork the Mobo if i go too much. I like the Mobo and CPU ..so i dont think ill prime above 4ghz with 1.5v's

Daym Dude... I think you got the "Golden Ticket" chip there! Gratz...

I'm not sure if they all do, but it's kind of interesting that unlocked it shows it as an X4 B50 (Business class?)

I think your right on this, unless you want to use it for DC (Boinc/Fold) just run a 10 pass IBT and call it good.
No need for 8hrs of prime unless you want to "Willy Wonka" it...

Also HondaGuy and Mine is exact stepping,, they both do 2800mhz on NB @ 3800mhz

So two of a Kind ,, i believe we know what stepping to look for

Man I got a 918BPMW from TigerDrect.....and it won't even post with ACC on! And now I'm even having trouble booting into windows. This sucks.

edit: ACTUALLY IM A BIG TARD I SOMEHOW WAS TRYING TO BOOT WITH DDR2-400 TIMINGS LMAO!!!! Currently trying to mess with the settings now.

Ok so I rolled back my BIOS on my Biostar TA790GX A2+ to the one from January.The latest BIOS has an option called "Core Leveling" and the only options in there are Dual-Core and Single-Core, which I assume forces the cpu to stay in those modes instead of quad-core. And now my 550 is a quad-core!

Well this CPU actually pushes my 3870x2 to Hotness levels to where im gonna have to Mod it again lol.

My 4100mhz bench with STOCK 3870x2 clocks..
I couldnt run the Card @ 945/2200 because the fan is going out but stock is fine ATM. I will mod Fan and try for more later. This card actually hold the Sytem back now lol.

NOTE: My 720BE vs My 550BE with STOCK 3870x2..Gains are Huge.

Still priming my 550 for stability @3.7GHz. Will go up to 3.8 soon! And to think, I got all sad when I looked at the box with the processor still inside and saw the 0918BPMW batch. Heck I even ordered another 550 from Newegg after my initial booting failures, then as soon as I unlocked it to quad I cancelled the order immediately. LOL nothing like the Phenom II unlock lottery!!

And I guess the older BIOS doesn't increase the HT no matter what setting, since it doesn't recognize the 550, but instead as B50. I don't care though, since HT doesn't really matter, and NB does (2000MHz so far, will play with that later).

Stepping wise this is a really good thing...Shows that pre 9XXteen's,
you know below 0920 has the same ability..

This im shure will make others happy too. Dont worry about HT so much if it works . NB and Ram can be tweaked to justify the HT pretty much.

Note: 4200mhz is being a challenge for me
