W3520 H20 @4877Mhz - DFI UT X58-T3EH8 !

Time to really push my W3520 on H20 cooling still. Managed to break alot of personal best benchmarks for max validation, max uncore frequency achived, Super Pi 1M, 32M and Pi Fast on i7/X58 platform

Super Pi 32M HT Enabled max = 4677Mhz at 1.488v
Super Pi 32M HT Disabled max = 4794Mhz at 1.552v
CPUZ Validation HT Disabled max = 4877Mhz at 1.584v

System:

Intel Xeon W3520 3845A935 D0 (Xeon equivalent of Core i7 920 D0)
EK Supreme LT 1366 / FESER 480 / MCP655
DFI UT X58-T3EH8 04/28 beta
HD4870x2 (HIS 4870X2 to Asus Top bios) with ATI WinXP 9.5
6GB Corsair Dominator GT DDR3-2000Mhz 7-8-7-20
750GB Samsung SATAII
Silverstone OP1200 PSU
Triple boot - WinXP Pro SP3 / Vista Ultimate 64Bit SP2 / Win7 Ultimate 64bit RC

Max Validation @4877Mhz at 1.584v

Max Uncore Frequency @4645.6Mhz

Super Pi 1M & PiFast @4802Mhz at 1.584v

Super Pi 32M @4794Mhz at 1.552v

Super Pi 32M @4677Mhz at 1.488v

Max Bclk Validation
So far 235bclk is max for validation. Messing with voltages to see if I can get more

Kayl 1/4HP SS was tuned specifically to hold high load with warmer not too cold temps for my FX-60 s939 to get around AMD cold bug. It came with only s939/LGA775 mount enclosure etc. So no 1366 mount etc. Probably get Kayl to fix me up with 1366 enclosure/mount kit and/or get a more beefier unit built later on. But for now H20 is it for 1366

Love that cpu, 4870MHz on H2O is definitely something to be proud of !

I'm gonna agree with Xavier though, you need some subzero cooling.

Now that I started testing my uncore frequency overhead on W3520, thought I'd see how far I can push it on regular water cooling.

Dropped bclk to 210-214 and bumped uncore multiplier from 16x default with 8x mem multiplier, to 22x uncore multiplier and managed to push it to @4663Mhz uncore frequency Super Pi 32M stable, @4707Mhz for 4M stable and Everest and screenshot @4760Mhz uncore frequency !!!! Had to jack up both CPU VTT and VDIMM voltage to reach such uncore frequencies

Uncore frequency = 4663.5Mhz

Uncore frequency = 4707.8Mhz

Uncore frequency = 4760.2Mhz

System:

Not agreeing or disagreeing with you EVA, but I don't believe I've seen a W3520 do 5279 Mhz on dry ice:

In my experience the Xeon equivalents seem to do somewhat better in the OCing department.

That's why I'll wait 2 more months for the W3550 (i7 950 equiv) to hit the store shelves.

I don't think anyone can say if W3520s are better or worse than 920 D0, both have validated amazing results. I stand by my statement that I know of no w3520 that has validated as high as 5279 on Dry Ice. The 5362 Mhz validation is extremely impressive, even if it was achieved on LN2/cascade.

I don't think as many folks have them. If they did, I think you would probably see better results.

on hwbot stats

Xeon W3520 = 30 results averaging @4695 clocks
Core i7 920 = 400 results averaging @4217mhz clocks

but i7 920 include c0 and d0, but still not many folks using W3520 so too early to tell
