    Talking W3520 H20 + HD4870x2 CF

My first ever Xeon W3520 experience and I like

    System:
    • Intel Xeon W3520 3845A935 D0 (Xeon equivalent of Core i7 920 D0)
    • EK Supreme LT 1366 / FESER 480 / MCP655
    • DFI UT X58-T3EH8 04/28 beta
    • 2x HD4870x2 Crossfire (Powercolor + Gigabyte flashed to Asus Top bios) with ATI Win7 9.4 (8.612 WHQL)
    • 6GB Corsair Dominator GT DDR3-2000Mhz 7-8-7-20
    • 750GB Samsung SATAII
    • Silverstone OP1200 PSU
    • Triple boot - WinXP Pro SP3 / Vista Ultimate 64Bit SP2 / Win7 Ultimate 64bit RC

    3dmark06 @21x215bclk - 4509Mhz

    3dmark05 @21x215bclk - 4509Mhz

    3dmark Vantage @21x215bclk - 4509Mhz

New PB lands me #4 world ranked HD4870x2 CF 3dmark vantage score of 28,338 http://hwbot.org/listResults.do?gpuM...true&limit=100 ! Right behind Dino at #3

Clocked GPUs a bit higher at 862/2000 and equaled Dino's #3 placed score of 28,559

    3dmark2003 @21x215bclk - 4509Mhz

    140k broken

Can't seem to get AM3 to run on Win7 Ultimate 64bit RC - AM3 crashes immediately with error popup prompting to close app ?

    Great scores mate,

I wish my X2 would OC like that, stuck at 830/930 on water
What is up with the Vcore BTW? I know it's not 1,13V for 4,5Ghz

    1.136v idle and 1.376v load

My HIS HD4870x2 does 860mhz GPU out of the box, but Gigabyte HD4870x2 stuck around 840mhz GPU out of the box. I use Rivatuner softmod for voltage to get weaker HD4870x2 to 862mhz in vantage and all benchies excep 3dmark06 - for some reason GT2 freezes if Gigabyte HD4870x2 uses >847mhz even with up to 1.4v GPU volts applied!!!

Yeah I tried the voltage softmod, doesn't net me even 1mhz higher clocks
By the way, the card won't accept voltages above 1,35V (someone measured the amps only rising up to the 1,35V setting) so don't bother using higher

Not bad eva, but I know you can do better. I am a flunky as an overclocker and my i920 d0 with 3 card setup of a 4870x2 + a 4890 gets too close and this is with out bios flashing. 792 on x2 and 970 on the 4890

Cpu under water, VGA under air.

Your a world class overclocker, get that cpu power higher.

And maybe bench on vista 32, as my cpu score shouldn't be that much higher.
