Talking EVGA Classified meets Core i7 950 / 920 and Dice...

    Hi fellas

here some results from the weekend - playing with Core i7 950, 920, EVGA Classified and 30kg Dice...

    Hardware:

    Intel Core i7 950
    Intel Core i7 920

    EVGA Classified (Bios S21S)

    6GB Corsair PC3-16000 8-8-8-24

    Corsair HX 1000W

    Windows XP (without tweaks)

    Otterauge CPU Pot

    Core i7 950:

    Core i7 950 CPU-Z@5460 CL7

    http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=577910

    Core i7 950 CPU-Z@5414MHz CL6

    http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=577864

    Super PI 1M:

    Super PI 32M:

    need somme tweaks for OS

    wPrime 32M:

    PiFast:

23x works better then 24x - CPU has a low VID (1.14V) and high leakage - so i think we need some LN2 to max them out...

Then we tested the Core i7 920 again (last week we got some nice scores with this CPU):

    Intel Core i7 920 CPU-Z@5299MHz CL6

    http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=577856

    Super PI 32M CL6:

    Super PI 1M (last week):

This weekend we got some better CPU-Z scores with this CPU - cause we got the Pot a little bit colder - this CPU has a low VID (1.15V) and high leakage too..

wPrime 1024M@high clocks is with both CPUs not possible, cause temperature is getting higher and higher...
I hope we can test them next weeks with some LN2.

A special thanks goes to EVGA and Shamino for the best motherboard - EVGA Classified is a real beast

    Stay tuned

Ah, finally we see a 950 starting to live up to expectations, and a very nice 920 validation too! Thanks for the inspirational post.

    Excellent 950 there

Id love to see the Voltage and Overclocking tabs from Eleet at those clocks so I can see what you had to pump into it!

Very impressed, seems the classified is the base for the serious benchers,

and the new DO's are the burners.

    great run,

Thank you - atm it is the hwbot record with i7 950 - but i dont think for a long time - when top overclockers starting benching with this cpu...

Thx - not yet tested the i7 950 in 3D - hope next week..
The i7 920 runs 4.9GHz Vantage and 5GHz 3D06 under Single Stage - with better cooling think both CPUs can do 5GHz+

Thx mate - saw your nice benching thread @EVGA Forum - well done

Thank you mate - did not test max BCLK @950 (played only with x23) - no CB and CBB @ both CPUs - both CPUs boot without problems @ -65°C outside the pot - think we need some LN2 to find this out

Thx Master - this board is pure fun - cant stop benching

We tested so a long time 32M (cause score was not as good as it could) and then we had no more Dice..Must do this 1M and PiFast Screen very fast - no time for tweaking...

    Thanks

24x is buged and i can only hit 5150MHz for a screen - but 23x works smooth

we worked without LLC - so VCore drooped to 1.5V - 1.525V@Load. Did not really test if CPU can do this clocks with less VCore...
Hope youŽll have fun with your i7 950

    Thx mate

Batch is 3849Bxxx (dont know the rest - iŽll update..)

I dont know if any i7 950 have a problem with x24 but i saw that Pt1t ones have problems too..
All i7 works a little bit better with oddly multipliers (17,19,21,23) but on my i7 950 the difference between x23 and x24 is very big

Started last night with some 3D benches...

    Core i7 950 & 9800GT (Core i7 950 cooled by Single Stage -42°C@Eva@Load & 9800GT V-Mod GPU watercooled by Enzotech SNBW)

    Aquamark:

    3DMark05:

    3DMark06 CPU Score:

    coming soon

CPU scales wonderful with cold but its not cold enough to bench 3D06 CPU Test with more then 5GHz - but i will try with Dice or LN2 at the weekend...

Core i7 950 & GTX280 (Card is @stockcooler at the moment but will make cold next days )

not enough cold at the moment to push cpu to same result as yesterday...

    Stay tuned
