I have been playing with my clock settings on my system last couple days to set most stable settings for F3K bios. I should say that I have noticed a little performance loss when HT frequancy is set to near 200ish(I couldnt gain prime stability with old clock settings).

On the other hand, my system seems to clock better when I set the HT frequency higher than 220. I was having hard time with F3B to set my frequency in higher numbers. Here is my most stable OC with F3K (my memory clock is not very impressive because it can only run rated timings and speed).

The prime95 blend test is into 10 hours with no error and I will leave it on for few more hours. I believe I will keep these clock settings for 24/7 untill a possible memory upgrade in near future. Let me know if you guys think everything looks okay, Thanks.

    Nice SUPHICETO

I just loaded the F5a for UD4P.....Booted X4 first try..

Still testing Bios before i crank on it. Ive noticed the UD5 shows the Temp correct. The UD4 is still temp bugged when unlocked but it is a Beta Bios. If they can fix temp on UD5 with 720 X4, i know it could get fixed on the UD4P too.

Those are good clocks and the volts seem good for X4 on your Prime

Thanks man. I dont have core temps also, I dont think anybody who unlcoks the fourth core has them. I just go by the TEMP1 on HW monitor. That is just the CPU temperature which is a little higher than the core temps in general. I am not sure if you have that reading but I belive that is the temp reading everybody goes by.

That is a good clock for 100% stable. Mine looks to clock the same now.

The bios reads the proper temp. But doesn't give you a load value obviously. I am going to get the Fluke out and see what she reads.

I decided to lock mine in at 3.6ghz 1.47, 2400NB 1.25v, 1600MEM 7.7.7 21 1.65v. This is my 100% stable clock for now. I am really trying not to buy a 955, and am waiting for the next round to come out. But it is getting harder LOL.

Do you know if AMD will be releasing anything better than the 955 in the near future? I'm also fighting the urge to buy a 955 and the only thing that will stop me is if there's something better coming soon!

Hahaaa..thats why i picked up the UD4P for now. Before i go full out AM3 i want to see if we get another Uber chip this summer

Now with Me UD4P Mobo and the 720 i have something to keep me busy at least for a week or too . I wanted the UD5 but then woulda needed Ram to go with it too

ill just daydream about a Super Overclocking Wonder chip, its safer for me ATM

There will be more coming before the end of this year. Every few months there is a refresh of sorts (If I make sense). With 6core coming out after the tech show, I can't imagine there won't be a desktop version hitting soon after. They at least have to hit C3 stepping before end of this year.

I might just buy one of the new dual cores that will be out this week for now. Cheap and something new to play with till 6cores (hopefully) hits desktops. Might be with new 800series chipsets

Same here, I dont see any point to buy 955Be right now for 2-5% performance gain over my 720BE. I am a little concerned about the voltage though, do you guys think 1.57v is too high for 24/7? The temps never seems to be over 50C and it idles around 33-34C. I have also been runing with this voltage for the last two months and nothing seems to happen to my chip yet. I just hope it would last me untill the next generation BE comes out.

BTW, I didnt know that 6cores were suppose to hit the market this year? if that is the case, I would try to hold myself from buying a cpu by then. Any news on the architecture of these news 6cores?

If you plan on upgrading later then that voltage will be fine. Just keep it cool. The 6core is hitting servers first. I am not 100% there is a desktop version coming. I just can't see why they wouldn't, it is socket compatible with Shanghi and Shanghi is basically Deneb. I was kinda hoping they would.

That's done it, I'm now waiting for the desktop variant of Istanbul.

I went from waiting for 940 to come out -> waiting for price of PII940 to drop -> waiting for 720BE to come out -> waiting for 955 to come out -> waiting for 955 price to drop -> waiting for SB800 -> waiting for desktop istanbul/955 refresh.

But I've made a deal with myself. If I don't get anything new by November, then I'm gonna get the coolest thing on the market in December. >:\

Just loaded F3k, allows 4th core unlock.

F3k also allowed me to finally get 3.6 stable on three cores in win 7, I was even able to drop some voltages and tighten up mem timings a bit. Very nice. Only have had one night to spend with the new bios, but honestly on my current cooling I don't have a desire to go any higher.

Four cores only allows 3.4 stable but with much higher voltage than with three cores at the same clock. I actually can do 3.6 stable on three cores with less volts than I can do 3.4 stable on four cores.

Additionally, I can now wake from S3 sleep properly @ my max 24/7 OC (previous bioses would not sleep properly at anything over 3.4)

I'm thinking about getting something better than this CL9 DDR3-1600 to play with, any opinions?

Sure, I know this stuff works good, tend to like 1.7v in gigabyte which is within tolerance for warranty.....

The F3K is acting kinda strange. After having a good setting rockstable and you reboot, set the board a step up higher, oc recovery comes. Ok, this should be good if the made settings were incorrect. BUT: If you then load the rock stable settings from the profiles, the board is not able to boot with them anymore. Asap the recovery kicks in. You gotta turn off the computer and unplug the psu, make a cmos clear and everything is fine again.

Make shure the Board didnt lower any of the voltages or raise them when this happens . Ive seen some bioses get volt buggy and go into shutdown mode when they under/overvolt things a givin setting.

My M3A was Know for that with the 803/901 Bios and it was setting my volts @ 1.4v when i was at 3.95ghz. not good. When i stepped up to the new 902 Bios for tha tMobo the problem went away.

See if any other Bios does it. That is if you can run another Bios for that CPU.

Note: try a different HT setting and or Different CPUxmulti. It may correct your problem if it is what i think is happening.

thx for your reply, but i checked that too. Also there is no improvement with another multi etc. Anyway, got things running. Im working on a review, so i cant publish any results yet. Will test another bios in the next days.

May i ask, what is the maximum bus speed ever reached on socket am3? Anybody knows that?
