Mike, as I've been telling you, this is a really really big deal.

05 has always held a special place in your heart, so it's only fitting that the one to break the mighty 50K barrier is you. Congratulations my friend.

Thanks everyone!!! Been fun pushing 3DMark05 again after a long time of absense doing 3D benches. The CPU is actually a lucky find - thought I give Fugger a bit of heat with his gem.

Been starting to do some 3DMark06 in the last few days - it's a whole new learning curve there. My CPU is really really strong on 2 of the 4 cores, but is struggleing running all cores with HT enabled.

First of all Mike, huge congrats on breaking the magical 50k milestone

Can you share the clock speeds / settings / screenshot of this WR run?

    http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=4871079

I also have couple of questions:

    - Was this done with 975 high leakage CPU from Intel?

    - Is there a performance difference in 05 between 975 D0 ES chip vs 975 D0 retail chip? Andre Yang's 48,7k score is done CPU @ 5460 MHz, I wonder how high you were running the CPU.. +5,6 GHz?

Anyway, truly a sick score once again.
    Thanks Sampsa
I aquired this CPU from a friend from overseas but I have no direct comparison with a retail CPU, but I have ordered a retail 975 and shall be able to give you comparison next week. Your estimate was on the money - tiny bit below 5.6GHZ.
But what I can say is that I cannot match match AndreYangs 06 speed with his retail Xeon 3540 with my CPU - unless I would go very very nutty with vcore. So finding a CPU of ANdre's caliber without the multiplier restriction will be the mission

Cheating??? Lol - no need to play tricks at 5.6ghz But please let me have your books of tricks for 06 - I could use some help there

    Sick, sick stuff Mike

50k is huge, the CPU is a monster, and it's just a great and efficient score on top of that

    Hats off to you

BTW congrats Mikeguava for this score (WR)
Thanks! I haven't attempted any 1m Pi yet - but I saw Charles screeny - hopefully I will find a bit more headroom on the top clocks to get near that time as well.

    @ Perkam thanks

@Tiborr, thanks! Was very nice meeting you too last year! Hopefully our paths will cross soon again and we can chat for hours

@Movieman - thanks for the props and backing me up while I have been not seeing the thread. Awesome meeting and chatting with you too!

@ Kingpin - many thanks - congrats to your crazy Phenomenal results too!!! Insane benching there!

@ Gautam - thanks a lot - you're are right - the 05 benchmarks have always held a special place in my hard both the PCMark and 3DMark. Time to venture out a bit more. 06 is a growing on me by the minute

@Brian.y - thanks - the pleasure was all mine meeting you at the GOOC

@ [XC] Gomeler - thanks - awesome scores you did at AMD as well - and stop giving me hell at PCMarks!

@ AndreYang - thanks for the backing - and congrats again for your insane 3540 results - crazy clocking there!!!

@ HiCookie - thanks again - awesome finally meeting you at GOOC - we need to chat soon again!

@ Vapor - thanks man - I tried to do my best at 05 - efficiency is even better with triple 4890s . Actually could have run quiet a bit tigher with memory, GPU etc. , but was a bit in a rush on this score.

    Astonishing result!!!

This is one hell of a CPU, thank God it didn't get ~5,4 Uncore, or else it would have been completly pointelss to bench some benchmarks from now on

One quick question - I understand you are playing 2k6 now. How is HT on, lower clocks versus HT off, higher clocks working for you, performance wise?
