Is it good for bough M4A79T Deluxe Rev1.01G and Rev1.02G
I have the Rev. 1,02G and bios start shows 4 cores, but everything in windows shows only 3 cores.

also, the AMI flash utility supplied on the asus website doesn't seem to support forced flashing. The generic one you can get off AMI's website does have more options you can use, but I don't think there's a parameter "/F" at all.

E: the generic afudos.exe gives the error message "BIOS does not support AFU". Guessing the flasher doesn't support this type of ROM for some reason

E2: actually, it's not surprising that the AFUDOS found on AMI's website doesn't work: it's way too new. Going to try an older version

So. Who has a working flasher?

E3: Success! AFUDOS 2.19 flashes it to the older version without any problems. Found here: http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/flash/AFUDOS219.zip

E4: Seems to be working. So far the only complaint is that it takes incredibly long to POST because it can't load "Express Gate" for some reason. Fixed by disabling Express Gate. What the hell is Express Gate, anyway?

E5: 4th core is stable. I'm now the proud owner of "AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 20"

Huh the GIGA uses AWARD i thought...

ASUS M4A 79 USES AMI ...............And if you use / F that works for Award not AMI.

So if you have AMI the comand is .........../ P B N C using the older AFUDOS

ok now that I got it working, what do you guys use to measure CPU temps? I've tried CoreTemp and RealTemp so far, and neither of those even support PIIs. AMD Overdrive just shows -256C for all temps.

    thanks!

    HWmonitor............Read TMPIN0 for Mobo temps.
..........................Read TMPIN1 for overall core temp(CPU).
..........................Read TMPIN2 ? not shure but may be secondary reading for CPU.

    The new Everest ,,
This will show you CPU Temp under Overclcoking(SENSOR).

The cores will read Zero , but toward the Top youll see (CPU)..that reads correct.

Voltages are correct for me in both while locked or Unlocked.

having strange issues with this setup
    M4A78T-E (with mod bios)
    PII X3 720 BE
    this RAM

it seems to be getting less and less stable over time.

I was running it at at 2.8 ghz @ stock voltage for a couple weeks, with ram set to the 1600 mhz divider (@ 8-8-8-24, 2.0Vdimm). Notice how this ram is rated at DDR1800 9-9-9-24, 1.9Vdimm. In the beginning, it was memtest86+ and prime stable. A couple weeks later, it corrupted the hard drive. And fails to POST.

Turns out that one of the memory sticks is defective (errors in memtest86+ now at pretty much any frequency). Strange.. Anyway, Now with only 3 sticks it has cold booting issues. If it does actually POST, it's pretty stable. Although there's no way I can get it to POST with the 1600mhz divider now. It sort of works with the 1333mhz divider. Now, I need to up the voltage on the CPU to 1.375 (from 1.325) to even get it to POST 1/2 the time. Should I RMA the board? Is there another AM3 DDR3 board I should try? It's still failing to POST half the time. If this goes on, it will eventually not POST at all.

E: also, using the 1600mhz divider results in a cryptic DQS error. Anyone else getting this?

    ASUS M3N72-D; mod BIOS

Hello, first sorry because my bad English :-(
I need big help; wich is mod BIOS for ASUS M3N72-D motherboard.
The last BIOS is "M3N72-D BIOS 1301". This MoBo don't support NVCC option in BIOS for unlocking CPUs.
    I have X4 620 (CACYC AC 0931EPMW) wich is "unlockable"(L3).
Other MoBos with nVidia 750a SLI chipset support NVCC (OK, not all MoBos, but a few).

    Thanks
