Yes, i couldnt work out why liquid was initially seeping from the fittings, i thought the hoses had slipped; i had felt the fittings were hand tightened well enough.
I should have realised that it was unlikely that both hoses would have slipped but as ive not used comp fittings previously i thought it was me.
Convinced it was the hoses i took it all off and re-mounted before getting the pliers out and wrecking the rad, using barbs late on in the saga was little more than re-arranging deckchairs as the flood waters rose around me.
Dunno, 45s or spacers would have prevented this.
I had some spare 45s but i cut my tube holes right over the inlet/outlets where the rad was to be mounted so striaght fittings or barbs were my options.






as in the holes way to close to the curve there.
