My first casemodding (And dremel use)

    Hey

I bought a Lian Li V2110B last fall in my hunt for silence and lost of harddrivespace. I build a HTPC server this spring and therefore I moved all my harddrives except for my systemdrive.

The Lian Li V2110 is not a highflow case it has very bad flow with default settings, so I considered sellling it, but the resellprice is very far from the new price. So I decided to mod my current case instead of selling it and buying a highflow case.

And because I wont be using the harddrive area, I will this summer install watercooling with either a quad or triple rad in the bottem compartment.

But for now I just wanted to add exstra aircooling.

This is my first experience with a Dremel!

I am very satisfied with my result, but I dont understand why I had drill the fan holes in the fan grill abit bigger before it was possible to screw the screws through, but other than that it went pretty well. I would like to color the antivibration rubber bands I have put on the fans (The white stuff you can see) but I am not sure the paint would stick to the rubber

And this should add a lot of airflow in the case.

Thanks for the kind words, I might cut another hole in the top of the case (Will be harder as I can not remove the top easily) and then later this summer I will add that triple or quad rad in the bottem part of the case with the same rad gril. Iam not sure it will look that well with all these grills, but it should work very well at least

You can install a mesh screen instead of a grille on the side, and use that grille for the top. I did with my rocketfish, and temps are wonderful. The idea is that you have greater exhaust cfm than intake, so you have negative air pressure, and the mesh will passively intake fresh air.

Looking good, not bad at all for a first run with a Dremel. I honestly wish I could say the same for my first attempt with a dremel. I'm just glad I decided to play with an old junker before making any attempt on something I actually wanted to keep.

I am sitting here and wondering if its worth installing an exstra exhaust in the top back of the case, it was the plan all along but I cant find out if it will be worth it, when I later add the triiple/quad rad in the bottem then it might be necesary, so think I will just go for it but until I get watercooling I think I will have blow inside for exstra cooling on the scythe.

    Part II

The last part of my casemodding before I go H2O is this:

Iam very satisfied with the neutral look it has while still having huge airflow now, which it really lacked before.

I want to install a triple on the top. Do you have any tips about cutting the aluminium on this case?
