We in Czech rep. are adopted French qualification rules, but only online qualification. Two winners will go to German final, no pre-final live competitions ...

PS. Czech and Slovak warriors are under this qualification ...

-DC- That representation MSI has decided to do that with you, I know, I can tell, but I do not think that you want it.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but according to this rules
    http://msi.overclockers.ru/rules.html
copy and translation is here (just in case):
    http://forum.topmods.net/index.php?showtopic=3114

Russian stage has already started and three days have already past.
    DC (organizer) writes above:

soon i'll post some news and add-ins at the msi.overclockers.ru page. We're now working on the points formulas
What points formulas he is working on? Is that means that max result isn’t winning? Then I don’t understand what result participant should reach: max performance per watt; max performance add per $ or may be max rated increase of performance? For each variant participant needs completely different configuration. Then participants who used this weekend for benching MSI gear already have wasted their time and money for LN2.

    7. Change of positions of competition

The competition administration reserves the right to itself to make changes to the given rules without notice participants.
So 7-th rule will be used to completely change stage conditions (not to “add important information to rules in “emergency” cases”). And nobody knows when.
Is this also has connection between that fact that “MSI decided to hold the challenge at www.overclockers.ru, not at topmods.net”?
BTW, last year contest was conducted on a completely separate web page - http://www.msi-oc.ru/ and Topmods didn’t have any objections.

So why does this discussion has to be done here?

Finnish qualification started today. We have 3Dmark01 and Superpi 1M tests without any bad restrictions. Test can be done on any setup, which include Nvidia GPU and Intel chipset.

This year there is teams which are competing.

    Me and Sampsa will use E8600 + X48 + GTX 295

    I like this.. a lot!
You are as good as your samples are!

    that sounds nice.

you're lucky you've got to bench 1M, and not 16M like stated before.
Now you can just use one nice setup, instead of 2 if it had been 16M.

    Good luck benching!

I hoop the swedish qualifications start soon

no nothing. Besides that apparently sweclockers.com will organise the contest, instead Nordichardware like last year. But nothing about the rules yet.

But i guess its no shame to wait a little more, instead of having really weird rules like you guys have, over at tweakers.net

Atleast it is clear what to do now.

But there is a big advantage for the guys with a good E8600.

    Swedish qualifiers are announced...

At first I was hopeful, then elmor told me it was announced at swec, which made me less cheerful. Then he went on to tell me he'd teamed up with ME4ME. At that point I was even less hopeful. After that, he heard from Kinc... And now I don't really feel like even trying.

Don't say that just yet. I'm looking into some options for the GOOC finals, but most likely I won't get to go. I discovered I'm still Finnish though, which means that I just have to beat... Err... SF3D and Sampsa in order to go for Finland, or elmor/Kinc to represent Sweden. I'd rather represent Finland since that's where my family is from originally, but I suppose I'll see which possibility is the best.

How to calculate the final score?

The results obtained in test Super PI 32M, translate in milliseconds and the resulting number takes the result obtained in the test 3DMark 2005. The winner in each category will be people who obtained the lowest score. The formula for calculating the result looks like this:

    a - b = c

    where a - the result of Super PI 32M in milliseconds, b - the result of 3DMark 2005, c - final score

    Example:
Result of Super PI 32M test was 9 minutes, 13 seconds 270 milliseconds (this is 553270 milliseconds). The result of testing in 3DMark 2005 is 26119. Of the 553,270 subtract 26119 and receive - 527151. This will be the final score.
This is rules of Russian finals.

just cause it's too hard to get Nvidia's top cards for most of participants. we thought about absolutely another formula but... we want more participants, right?

It has happened before, but yeah. I suppose the worst case scenario is at least a mobo or a graphics card per country I'm competing in, which isn't too shabby. Also, I read hastily that SF3D and Sampsa might be in a bit of trouble time-wise with the GOOC trip coming up.

We'll see what happens. There's always good people to beat, it just makes it more fun.

Yeah, your situation didn't seem like the most comfortable to be in, after hearing what happened from elmor.

I suppose I'll give it a shot at least, I'd need an E8600 first though, everything else is in place, more or less. I mean, it's at Swec, crotale isn't competing and the worst anyone who knows to oc can do is to finish second or third if everything works out fine.
