Hello everyone. I have the first version of this board. Yesterday I wanted to reset the bios via cmos jumper however I accidentally removed the jumper of the chassis intrusion pins. And when I realized it I put it back. Since then I can't boot my pc. After cpu, ram and hdd recognition it writes " Chassis Intruded! Fatal Error ... System Halted" and everything freezes. I tried to reset bios via jumper and by removing the bios battery. I waited 12 hours without battery but nothing changed. I upgraded the bios with EZFlash to 1504 but still I get the same error message. If I reset bios then I can go into bios with F1 key. After arranging the bios and saving I can't boot, same message appears on the screen. I can't continue with F2 after bios reset because my disks are in AHCI mod and windows can't load because when I reset the bios all the disks begin in IDE mode. Anyway did you have a similar problem? Or know about this problem. I'd really appreciate any help. Otherwise I would go for an RMA. Thanks.

I'm also using the G15, no problem whatsoever with any of V2 BIOS. you may want to check the USB option to enable legacy and other stuff.

I have an Asus P6T deluxe V1 mobo and I have a dumb question. We all know of the places the mobo that have jumpers on them that control chassis intrusion, QPI voltage and CMOS reset. They use the standard blue jumpers and they have the black 'foundation' that is attached to the mobo to ensure that the pins don't push through jumpers. Sorta like a 'safety stop' for lack of better words.

My question is this, I have a tendency to 'push too hard to make sure things don't fall off' when i check jumpers. Is there any chance of me having the strength to push hard enough to actually dislodge or push the pins themselves through the motherboard? I have a feeling the answer should be no only because I am pushing on the jumper itself and the 'black foundation' should stop the jumper once it is on all the way.

    Ease my paranoia.......

No danger to cause this. Mainboards have multiple layers of copper traces, and those solder spots for the jumper pins go all the way through the board inside a copper 'pipe' that connects it to the top and underside trace layer of the board. That whole little pipe is sucked full with solder, and it is a massive 1 mm thick layer of metal.

However there is also no point in pushing too hard, those jumper caps have metal 'tongues' to touch the actual pin. Just push them in till you feel some resistance and you're ok. I have never seen one falling off...

Try to boot with another Win HDD. May be a bios issue too, sounds like RMA.

Would you mind summarizing your settings? I've messed around with 'em to no end with no luck... I didn't have this prob at all with my V1 board. Weird.....

Hmmm... in addition I get a BSOD ( Machine_Check_Exception ) on startup if I enable C-State on the proc. Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone have C-State successfully enabled?

Ya but unless you want to run the Asus utilities you dont need it, i didnt think anyone here would want to run it. Latest driver dont do crap if you're not using the software. But ye im sure you can get it from the Asus site if you want to run it.

With the Marvell thing, my P6T standard dont have sas but anyway the 2 verticle ports are intel 7/8, the micron ports are with the other intel ports but micron are orange instead of red 0/1. Dont know about the deluxe.

On the vanilla P6T the orange ports are Jmicron, on the Deluxe they are Marvell SAS/SATA.

    Mouse/keyboard issues of the BIOS

    Hi Mlai, and others,

I've got an issue with my mouse and keyboard. it's a Razer Lycosa keyboard and a Razer Copperhead mouse.

Somehow, when connected to the same USB connector pair/hub, the mainboard's BIOS would mistake accidental mouse motions for pressed keys and jump wildly through the BIOS options, with tictictic noises as if someone would hold some key on the Lycosa down.

It's annoying but easy to solve.

I just thoguht I'd mention it, since some folks are having issues with the G15s.

100C if I'm not mistaken. Man, those are crazy temps. Mine has reached up to around 91C before, so I've stopped overclocking until I get some proper thermal paste on my CPU. What cooler are you using? And what are your idle temps?

    Ultra120ex with gc-1.
I found out what was the prob.
The cpu voltage is set as "auto" and it becomes 1.4xV
Now I set it manually to 1.2V and the max. temp is less than 80C.

This is my BIOS configuration for 920 D0 @4.2Ghz (Idle CPU temp 45ºC / Full max load 77ºC)

    Ai Overclock Tuner: Manual
    CPU Ratio: x21
    Intel Speed Step: Disable
    BCLK Freq: 200
    PCIE Feq:100
    DRAM Freq: 1603MHZ

Is anybody getting stable Overclocking on AIR with less volatges ?
If so can post BIOS Configuration to compare (as a guide)
Is there any other setting i should change?

Not on mine. I'm running an old BIOS and haven't any issues, even when running Linx for 50 iterations. My CPU is under H20 though so that may have an impact.

I'm debating trying one of the new BIOS' to see if I can hit 4.2Ghz without any problems. I have a C0 chip but it runs great at 1.31v 4.0Ghz with HT disabled. I'm a gamer and HT is absolutely useless to me.

Please someone with processor xeon W3520 and the P6T Deluxe with new bios 1604 to check this:

From other messages also P6T family has same locks.

I hope that every overclocker that has a Xeon cpu will push Asus in any way to work on unlocking Xeon cpus.

I'm on bios 0507 (dated 4/28) on P6T Vanilla. Good bios, boot 21/220 from (bios set), but my xeon W3520 still has all those features locked. It's not a big issue, performance-wise, but it blows my mind why Asus is still not doing anything about it.
