This particular BIOS is very D0 stepping friendly along with incorporating a few changeable settings like Round Trip Latency (RTL) that allows us to clock our Corsair Dominator GT memory kit a little higher than the other X58 motherboards."
They do not mention what the RTL settings were, but they were able to reach 2100 7-8-7-20 1T 1.69v

the new bios can run even lower rtl
the problem was the difference in rtl and other settings
that statement is now void.
btw setting the rtl that high u loose a lot of latency and bandwidth..
