Intel say that max QPI/dram is 1.35V yes!!...but to run your high speed memorys at stoch you have to bump it up further than that. If it damage your cpu I dont know but a lot people run it with 1.45V 24/7 with out problem so far atleast!
To find your 4Ghz bios settings you just have to search and you will find a lot differnence templates!

ok not sure if this will help anyone out or not but here's some things I found. For some reason I couldn't get stable at 4ghz until now. My pll voltage was at 1.89 and I kept locking up with Linx now I dropped it to 1.85 and I'm perfectly stable.

Also I'm running 1.45 qpi/vtt and 1.47v to the cpu is this ok for 24/7 use? I've got blocks on both my cpu and nb running off a 480gtx and my max temp on all cores is 87c (that's after about a half hour of linx).

Also I've noticed that if you bump up the UCLK freq it gives you a huge bump in mem performance. However, anything above the lowest setting is unstable, has anyone been able to bump this up and keep stable?

    thanks.

Hey fellas, just picked up this board with some OCZ 2000MHZ memory, cant seem to get anything to pass Linx at this point, i cannot even get a boot with 200MHZ, can someon give me some good settings for 200x19 = 3.8ghz, my cpu needs 1.28v for 3.8ghz and 1.37v for 4ghz, any and all help is appreciated.

    OCZ Blades GAR ?

Most important on my board is the IOH voltage, up there a bit. I need 1.45QPI for Prime stability at 2000Mhz CL7.
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

GAR, which ones specifically? Also what cpu and the batch number btw? I remember getting the OCZ Blades CL9's (non-hypers) and using a quite a bit of dram voltage to run. QPI was near 1.45 and dram voltage was 1.8v. I returned the RAM because I just couldn't get it to work at stock speeds. The only way to get reasonable voltages was to drop the speed. It could have also been my CPU's IMC (C0/C1 at the time) as well and just couldn't handle them. I currently now have a D0 and Perfect Storm CL7's (Elpida Hypers) and have been quite happy with the combo. It is running rock solid at 4GHz and RAM 2000 7-8-7-20-1T on CPU: 1.27v QPI: 1.4v and Dram: 1.65v.

Oki...whats max recommend for IOH then? I use 1.20V atm.
My memorys run at 9-9-9-24 or 8-8-8-20, 1800MHz, 1.64V dram

Not the blades, the platinum cas 9

ok so even at 1600 mhz im failing linx after exactly 8 minutes every time, going to try a higher ioh now, thanks.

EDIT: ok so i tried a IOH of 1.21 and and QPI of 1.45 and still no boot at 2000mhz, overclocking this board is a much more of a challenge than my UD-5 was. Any other suggestions, i would be happy to get 1600MHZ cas 7 stable in linx.

Is the R2E V2 going to change the slot layout at all?

One of the huge draws to the Classified is the slot layout (at the expense of a larger board, but most XS folks can manage a larger board). I don't think just a stepping change to B3 is going to cut it against the Classified with the slot layout it has as well as the digital VRM.

    Hello to all,
This thread was(is) very helpfull when i was OCing for the first time and I've had this pc set up for about 4 month now, However here is where i run into trouble.. I can't figure out how to fix my 280... i have to restart my pc multiple times to actually see the screen. This is from cold boot if i may add, if restarting normally the card will start up like its supposed to. If i do it after a night of rest, on the LCD display it goes through the steps and on VGA Bios makes those 4( i think) beeps for hardware failure. Its really random though.. sometimes it starts up without a glitch - then lets say i disconnect power supply to clean it and once again blank screen. Sleep is also weird, it will wake up ONLY if i press Esc, god forbid i move the mouse as it "wakes" up but the screen is then Blank and i have to restart. has anyone encountered similar problems? Any suggestions?

    Thank you,
    Julius

Does anyone know how to DISABLE Turbo mode when I manually set the multi to 21?

When I'm idle it bumps the multi up to 22. Launch anything that loads and it drops back down to 21.. this causes me to have inconsistent boots because I think it bumps it to 22 before it gets into Windows

    I'm on BIOS 1204

No, V2 won't change the slot layout. It'll just have a newer revision of X58 chipset, that's about it.

yup: I'll give that a try, but for now I've just bumped BCLK up to 211 so I can keep speed-step enabled.

I don't have the same kit, but I managed to get my mem stable at over 1600 after increasing IOH to ~1.35V.

Ill give it a shot and post back, IOH is the NB, so it makes sense.
